Red Power Ranger, Ricardo “Rico” Medina, Jr. Was Cleared in Sword Stabbing today by Prosecutors!

Palmdale, CA—After the totally unnecessary murder arrest and jailing of actor, Ricardo “Rico” Media, Jr. prosecutors have understandably declined criminal charges.

Roommate, Joshua Sutter, attacked Medina.  Medina fled from Sutter locking him and a girlfriend in the safety of a bedroom.  

In a wild scene like that Jack Nicholson the film, The Shining, Sutter broke down the door and Medina’s display of a sword was not enough to end Sutter’s attack.  Medina’s then justifiably stabbed Sutter.

This seemed on its face a classic but unfortunate justifiable homicide based on the information provided by the Sheriff’s spokesman.  Yet, some brain dead excuse for a cop jailed Medina despite a serious lack of evidence.

Cops can temporarily hold a potential suspect for investigation and when there is no evidence of a crime they must release him.  If later sufficient evidence is obtained then they can re-arrest their suspect. 

Medina was traumatized enough by being victimized and having to use deadly force on another. The jailing an innocent man was and is simply cruel and malicious.

Had Medina posted bail he’d have lost $100,000 forever in bondsman fees.

Now Medina must learn if Hollywood will allow him to work again despite this tragic incident and misleading publicity.  We can only hope his agent stands by him and keeps his career moving.

Cops in this jurisdiction have a duty to protect the rights of people that defend themselves and others.  This arrest was beyond indefensible. 

Imagine if they arrested and held every cop that justifably shoots someone in jail like they did Medina?  Of course some people are more equal than others in our world!

Why Prosecutors, Judges and Defense Lawyers fail to Understand Lawful Self-Defense

Los Angeles, CA—In this part of the world where the Second Amendment is redundantly denounced people fall victim to all manner of assaults.  When people refuse to be victims and fight for their lives the Criminal Justice System sometimes takes on an evil role.

We must begin with the players in the criminal justice system.  They are all lawyers.  Over the last four decades I’ve met and worked with a great deal of these lawyers. 

Only a tiny percentage was ever soldiers, cops or any kind of combatants.  They usually have zero firearms experience beyond watching a Hollywood created shooting.  Specifically, that scene where a person fires a gun at another causing the hapless victim to fly backwards over a car and then through a plate glass window.

Nearly all lawyers are gun rights hating liberals that simply don’t understand that guns save lives.  They’ve been brainwashed their whole lives and during their formal education.

Lawyers are by nature intellectual bookworms that have avoided always violence or being around violent people outside their law practices.

Most lawyers come from upscale families and have enjoyed living in safe communities and have never been confronted by criminal assault or even a schoolyard brawl.

Because of their positions in the Criminal Justice System these lawyers delude themselves into thinking they’re experts on the violence they sort out in courtrooms.  Frankly lawyers are far too often the blind leading the blind on cases where justifiable deadly force is involved.

Most shooting for example happen within seconds, at arms length and are not caught on tape.  Twisting bodies moving at breakneck speed, reflexes and fear makes understanding exactly what happened sometimes nearly impossible.

When you add the lies of the participants, witnesses and others falsely claiming to have seen the incident getting to the truth is nearly impossible.

I found that even the victim’s that succeed in surviving a deadly attack by using deadly force often lie to police in order to exaggerate their self-defense claims.  

Wow!  How can these cases be fairly examined, prosecuted or tried?  The answer is monumental and life-changing mistakes are the rule rather than the exception.

Remember forcing a person that justifiably used deadly force to survive to be tried by a jury inflicts massive punishment even if there is an acquittal.

Those accused often lose their life savings, homes, jobs, marriages, friends and reputations while waiting sometimes years to clear their names at a trial.  Bankruptcy becomes necessary further victimizing those wrongly accused.

I’ve seen decent middle-class people who were acquitted leave jail to begin life again in a homeless shelter! 

Prosecutors must take responsibility and understand that the accused must be given the benefit of the doubt.  They can’t cave into demands by family members or community groups for prosecution. 

Prosecutors routinely wash their hands in the accused’s blood somewhat like Pontius Pilate.  They simply shrug their shoulders and say, “Let’s let a jury decide.”

Prosecutors have a very real conflict of interest since the fewer cases they file means a smaller budget and restricting their chance for advancement.  Bankrupting those innocents they can’t convict is a vicious and heartbreaking reality.

Defense lawyers need to recognize their own ignorance and seek out investigators and experts that can actually reconstruct the violent event.

Reflexes, size, strength disparity and coordination of the combatants along with genuine fear and survival instinct all play a part in a violent event and must be weighed.  

In the end we use the reasonable man standard to determine justification.  That includes the reasonable fear involved a violent event. 

I have to ask why any prosecutor would concern himself or herself with some aggressive fool that lost his life trying to victimize another.  That aggression should be the solid evidence of doubt benefiting the accused.

Defense lawyers have a duty to put aside their negative views on weapon and self-defense.  They must recognize their job to protect the rights of their clients to things like Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground Laws.

L.A. County Sheriff Arrested the Actor who played the Red Power Ranger in an Obvious Case of Self-Defense

Palmdale, CA—L.A. County Sheriff’s officers responded to a Saturday 911 call from Ricardo Medina, Jr., 37 after he reportedly stabbed his roommate. 

Deputies entered the home and found Joshua Sutter mortally wounded after being stabbed by a sword allegedly by the actor most famous for playing the Red Mighty Morphing Power Ranger. 

A Sheriff’s spokesman said that Sutter was fighting with Medina who with his unidentified girlfriend fled to a bedroom.  The dead man then forced his way into the bedroom when he was mortally wounded.

Sutter lived in the home but assuming the sheriff’s department is correct that he stepped up his violence by forcing his way into the safety of the bedroom.  Depending on size or strength disparity use of deadly force to terminate such of an attack was reasonable.

Bail for Medina was set at $1million.  

Since I specialize in self-defense cases this one is right up my alley.  Should the District Attorney senselessly file a complaint or obtain an indictment I know I can help Medina.  I'd welcome a call from him or his lawyer. 

It would be a shame to see this lad’s life be destroyed by an ill-advised prosecution.  Barring solid evidence, a confession or a witness statement this matter should end.

If Medina is forced to stand trial his career is over even if he is eventually acquitted. Americans are supposed entitled to the benefit of the reasonable doubt.  Making a jury determine if the act was justified is a form of prosecutorial tyranny. 

Such a prosecution could easily cost the accused to pay as much as $1 million in legal fees and costs.  

PEGIDA Goals and Aggressive Muslim Deportation Must Succeed for Europe’s Survival.

Dresden, Germany— Patriotische Europäer gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes or in its English translation, Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West (PEGIDA) is exploding in Europe.

Huge demonstrations in Germany have sent some controversial shockwaves throughout Europe that has stood by failing to react to the deadly Muslim threat. 

Is this a hate based movement or terrorized people coming together for simple survival? That depends upon whose opinion you’re examining.

There can be no argument that Muslim extremism follows this group wherever they go.  Beheadings, bombings and extreme senseless violence directed by hateful Muslims against non-Muslims is the rule rather than the exception everywhere.

The Muslims have been invited guests in civilized Western nations for longer then most of us have been alive.  Generally it’s been without major problem until the last 20-30 years. 

Civilization demands that when you’re an invited guest in someone’s nation or home that you behave like one or leave.  Those that don’t behave must be tossed out to preserve the peace.  Many Muslims feel they are somehow exempt from customs, laws and simple decency. 

What about the moderate or seemingly peaceful Muslims?  They and their clerics bear a huge responsibility for the savage acts of the militants. They remain silent and by doing so they are no small part of this pseudo-religious, cult based conspiracy of terror.

Muslim culture currently demands they reproduce like rabbits.  In their home nations medical care was non-existent and children died at an alarming rate because of common childhood illnesses that were eliminated in the West.

One thing for sure, Muslim’s demand far too much of their nations they have decided to inhabit.  They instead see themselves on a dangerous global colonization effort.  Muslims simply don’t belong in a civilized nation. 

The PEGIDA movement would not exist but as a direct response to innocent lives lost in senseless acts of hateful violence.

German Chancellor Angelia Merkel along with other politicians condemned PEGIDA to preserve their politically correct image. 

We are 70 years out of a German period of disgrace, shame and national guilt for Nazi Party atrocities.  Any ethnic conflict is a grim reminder for the German people.

The neo-Nazi’s anti-Semitism has a common bond with Jew hating Muslims.  Neo-Nazis do exist in Germany but have curiously joined with the PEGIDA movement.  Joining with neo-Nazis to combat the Muslim threat is distasteful to most Europeans because of their history of hate.

The neo-Nazi endorsement of PEGIDA tarnishes the image of this organization.  That was not helped by the antics of it’s founder, advertising executive, Lutz Bachmann, when he actually costumed and posed as Adolph Hitler for cameras.

Bachmann quickly resigned from PEGIDA after that huge blunder.

PEGIDA now has a platform to deal with Muslims.  Are these enough to stem the problem?  Frankly I doubt it, in that this is all too little and much too late. 

PEGIDA Mandates:

1.  Affirms the right of asylum for war refugees and politically persecuted people.

2.  Advocates to include a duty to integrate into the German Basic Law.

3.  Advocates for decentralized housing of refugees.

4.  Suggests creation of a central refugee agency for a fair allocation of immigrants among countries of the European Union.

5.  Demands a decrease in the number of asylum seekers per social worker from currently 200:1.

6.  Suggests to model German immigration policies after those of the Netherlands and Switzerland and demands an increased budget for the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees to speed up processing of applications.

7.  Demands an increase in funding for the police.

8.  Demands implementation of all asylum laws including expulsion.

9.  Mentions zero tolerance towards criminal refugees and immigrants.

10.  States that Pegida opposes a misogynic and violent political ideology, but does not oppose assimilated and politically moderate Muslims.

11.  Supports immigration as in Switzerland, Canada, Australia and South Africa.

12.  Pegida demonstration on 12 January 2015

States that Pegida support sexual self-determination (opposing "early sexualization of children").

13.  Argues for the protection of Germany's Judeo-Christian coined culture.

14.  Supports the introduction of referenda as in Switzerland.

Muslim terror and crime is a grim reality in Europe. I favor a policy where all able-bodied law-abiding European citizens take a role in national defense.

That is to train and carry concealed firearms to deal with the Muslim threat.  It is unfair and unwise to keep Europeans disarmed and helpless from the savage armed Muslims that are relentlessly killing innocents.
