Judge Rebecca Wright Should Win An Appeal With NBC!

Los Angeles, CA—After spending decades inside courtrooms first as a Chicago cop, later as a criminal defense investigator and journalist in Arizona and California, I’ve been redundantly disappointed the cast of characters I’ve met.

The judges for the most part are a bunch of pompous tyrants on a power trip.

Prosecutors are a bunch of smug bastards that routinely hide evidence and put their thumbs on the scales of justice at every opportunity. 

The beleaguered defense lawyers must hold their noses while they simply watch their hapless clients get convicted 80% of the time.

Occasionally there are unexpected surprises and dramas but the reality is most of the cases settle without trial in plea agreements. 

Accordingly, I have authored a somewhat cynical motto,  “If justice ever happens it’s usually by accident and for all the wrong reasons.”

What do I think about most court or police themed entertainment programs?  They all suck in a very big way.  Mostly they annoy me on account of their runaway political correctness.  I dumped cable years ago since I have little time to watch TV anyway. 

I recently found a judicial oasis that cracks me up in a big way.  The show is the NBC offering, Bad Judge.

Most refreshing is the leading female protagonist, Judge Rebecca Wright.  She’s refreshingly human and prefers to error in form rather than substance.

The writing for Bad Judge is funny and the entire cast is marvelous. The disappointment comes when you realize it’s only a half-hour show.   

Judge Wright is played by Kate Walsh.  Walsh was born in CA and later raised in Arizona.  She moved to Chicago where she established roots at Second City.  She was also involved with the Piven Theatre Workshop and the Chicago Shakespeare Repertory.

Walsh additionally went on to New York and did the Off Broadway circuit. 

Walsh’s acting and comedy chops soon earned her guest star spots and a coveted role in the dramatic series Gray’s Anatomy.  She also won a subsequent spin-off show. 

Walsh’s striking good looks and ravishing red hair are only second to a great smile that captivates souls. 

Walsh was made for that role.  In fact the casting for the show could not be better. 

In Bad Judge, political correctness has taken a back seat to refreshing comedy.  Most of the overly, narcissistic and egotistical judges and lawyers I ever met would absolutely hate Walsh’s character.  Maybe that's the reason I love Judge Wright!  

Sad news came to me this week as I learned what became my favorite show has been cancelled.

In the mean time we will have just have to catch episodes on NBC on Thursday nights.  

When a show’s last episode is finished a “wrap party” is always a tradition.  I expect this one will be solemn, however I can’t imagine this crew not having fun anyway.  

I only wish I could be there so I could congratulate each and every cast member for the fun they all brought to my life.

Arias Trial is Void Because the Government Facilitated Witness Tampering on a Grand Scale.

Phoenix, AZ—Let me begin by saying I’m not now nor have I ever been retained as the defense investigator for Jodi Arias.  I’m not her friend or one of her supporters. 

I have however been greatly alarmed by the conduct involved with her journey through the Arizona criminal justice system. How the Arias case became such a high profile circus defies all logic.

This was a no more than passionate event of one lover killing another.  This is not really unusual as homicides go.  

How this became a Capital First Degree Murder Case makes no sense to me at all.  Had there been financial gain involved I may have supported a murder charge.

Arias has already been behind bars for over six years and has served adequate time for a more realistic crime such as Manslaughter. 

She’s been convicted of Capital Murder and now a second jury is going to be wangling with her punishment.  We now know that any attempt at fairness of her murder trial and sentencing phase has been terminally compromised

The prosecution and trial of Arias before Judge Sherry Stephens, was nothing less than a judicial nightmare.  The prosecutor Juan Martinez has substantially lowered the acceptable prosecutor's behavior bar and Judge Stephens has miserably failed to rein him in.   

Judge Stephens succeeded in raising her own celebrity star along with Martinez by making sure national TV cameras were unobstructed as they mugged for them.

The media circus created one more unintended monster; legions of pathetic trolls that formed a media fueled lynch mob.  The results were constant death threats to each and every witness that was called by the Arias defense.  Undoubtedly that influenced testimony and perhaps caused defense witnesses to restrain their testimony or refuse to cooperation.  

The threats were discussed today before the Arizona Court of Appeals and they are the apparent reason Judge Stephens has sealed the courtroom.  This sudden attempt to deal with this mess all comes too little and too late.

The decision to allow cameras into courtrooms for live and contemporaneous broadcast was a bad one.  Video is fine as long as it is broadcast or otherwise published after the trial is concluded.

Too many things and do go wrong including the now apparent unbridled witness tampering in the Arias proceedings.

Arizona has now more than adequately demonstrated that protecting Arias’ rights became impossible.  This cannot be somehow cured or remedied now.  Now there is only one fair thing to do and that’s to cut the losses and free Arias. 

There is a valuable less here for future trials.

News Media, Camera Drones and whopping Lies

Los Angeles, CA—The redundancy of reported drone news fables claiming privacy invasion and endangerment are getting very tiresome.  Okay, I agree that these stories are still somewhat novel and interesting. 

Claims that the little camera drones are nearly colliding with conventional helicopter and other aircraft are nearly always patently bogus.  Careful examination by a journalist would expose the reality from fantasy.

Police and news helicopter pilots see their career days being numbered by the threat of drones eliminating their jobs.  Helicopters cost $1,500 to $2,500 per hour to keep in the air.  The drones cost nearly nothing!

Are the motives of helicopter pilots really pure when they disparage, denounce or otherwise criticize camera drones and their operators?  

Can a little camera drone bring down a helicopter or airplane?  I won’t say it’s impossible but it is incredibly unlikely.  There are thousands of collisions between large birds and planes every year.  Occasionally aircraft suffer minor damage but aircraft fatalities or serious air accidents from birds are beyond rare.

The camera drones are zero threat to helicopters. simply because the air movement or prop-wash cause by the large blades would blow little drones far away. 

I suppose a drone could be sucked into a jet engine perhaps causing a failure of that engine but causing an actual crash would be very unlikely.

No camera drone operator wants to see his beloved and expensive little toy destroyed.  The same goes for causing any kind of damage or injury.  Flying around conventional aircraft is dangerous but, much more so to the camera drone more than anything.

The safety record of the new camera drones is stellar and spotless.  Zero fatalities or serious injuries.  The same cannot be said about any conventional aircraft or large military drones.

The news media sends out journalists with, for the most part zero experience with these things to cover the “Chicken Little” stories of how bad things almost happened and sensationalism and loathing nearly always sets in. 

The same can be said about stories of the little drones invading privacy even though they can’t see or hear through walls or roofs.

The stories of some journalists know no bounds when fictional sensationalism is better than the truth.

There is yet to be one real case of unlawful privacy invasion with a camera drone brought forward in any court.

No industry needs camera drones more than the news media.  Recent financially lean years have shut down newspapers and caused pink slips to rain in nearly every newsroom. 

The camera drones produce clear, breathtaking still and video images needed for electronic newsgathering.  News organizations can operate far better with a few camera drones out in the viewer or reader’s neighborhoods than a single conventional helicopter.

Most of America is covered by small or medium market news organizations that don’t now have nor can afford helicopters.  Drones are their obvious answer!

A conventional helicopter, pilot and sometimes a photographer must be quickly scrambled to cover breaking stories.  Then they have to get to the scene and that takes time too.  A drone can be deployed within a minute or three by an operator in the neighborhood. 

The media needs to position itself at the very front of the fight with the FAA to use these in the course of daily newsgathering. 

There is a 1^st Amendment right that also needs to be protected.  The camera drones are no different than any other piece of news equipment such as a pencil, notepad or conventional camera.

The media has to begin factually reporting drone stories taking out the fables and claims that the sky is falling as a result of this exciting new technology.

It’s far easier to win this fight now at the point of FAA regulation and legislation than years of expensive court challenges.

The Obama Administration is Destroying our Nation and African-American’s Opportunities

Washington, DC—With the Obama Administration’s Criminal Obstruction of Justice by interfering with enforcement of immigration laws, it is victimizing African-Americans the most.

Suffering the most are the African-Americans that must now compete for entitlements, educational opportunities and jobs with illegal aliens.  Then of course the backbreaking strain on our health care system that turns nobody away from services, negatively affects every citizen.

Obama without consent of the American people or Congress is preparing blanket amnesty for millions of illegal aliens that he’s allowed to criminally enter our country. 

What’s ironic here is that African-Americans voted for the first Black President in hopes that they’d be given more rather than far fewer opportunities.

African-Americans are being pushed into an America fundamentally being changed into a poverty majority, Third World Nation! 

Obama’s intent and goal to destroy the Middle Class is obvious! 

With the influx of many tens of millions of illiterate, non-English speaking and unskilled trespassers primarily of Hispanic origin, African-Americans come in dead last. 

Through Treason, Obama is doing grave destruction to America that our enemies’ bombs and bullets could never do. 

I don’t think this is what African-American voters were expecting but this is exactly what they’re getting.  Obama has brought African-Americans nothing but deceit, destruction and doom.

The Democratic Party was always aligned with the Ku Klux Klan.  In recent decades they have successfully put on sheep’s clothing to deceive.  Now African-American’s very survival requires that they purge every last Democrat from our government. 

Putting a Drone Under Your Child’s Christmas Tree

Phoenix, AZ—Okay, I have to confess that my two camera drones have brought out the child in me!  I put one under my own tree last Christmas.  I’m middle-aged but have become hopelessly hooked on these incredible things.  I now own a DJI Phantom 2 and a Blade 350QX quad-copters that use those great GoPro cameras. 

For some unknown reason these multi-rotor camera drones have not caught the affection of women like they have men.  I don’t understand this since women are generally more creative then men.  I hope this changes because they have no clue what they’re missing.

The popularity of the multi-rotor drones is exploding especially with photographers.  They allow limitless perspectives of the subject mater sought to make or capture breathtaking images. 

They have starter drones on the substantially less-expensive end such as the Blade 200-QX that can help your child master the very important skills in controlling, operating and understanding this somewhat new technology. 

To be a successful camera drone owner & operator there are four things that must be part of your learning curve. 

First is learning the science and piloting of the device itself.  Next is the understanding of cameras and video photography.  After that, learning how to edit the video so that it is watchable becomes very important.  Last but not least is story telling or writing ability, which is no small part of this process. 

The best way to describe this is to compare this process to making a TV news story or a blockbuster movie.  If you’re not motivated, creative and competitive don’t bother with camera drones.

There’s really no fun in using the camera drones if you can’t share your films with your friends and the world.  Nobody will want to watch your videos unless they have that special sizzle. 

Drone photography has opened a new world that often can’t even be captured safely with conventional helicopters or fixed wing aircraft.  

The safety record of the camera drones is still unblemished but for a few careless owner/operators that have put their hand or fingers into the moving propellers.  For these people putting Band-Aids in their flight box may be a good idea. 

Crashes into trees, buildings or other fixed objects are inevitable but most of the time the drone survives with little or no damage.  A broken propeller or two are easily replaced.  

A pretty nice consumer drone with camera will cost between $1,200 and $3,000 but is worth every penny. 

The lucrative camera drone manufacturing industry is becoming fiercely competitive meaning the quality improves as the prices are dropping. 

An accomplished camera/drone operator can expect to see real career possibilities in many areas of business.  Filmmaking, TV news, Surveying and Mapping businesses will all need drone/camera operators.

Back to the idea of giving one of these gee wiz gizmos to you kid.  A starter drone may be the best idea.  If your child is really motivated, responsible and capable of handing the learning curve the real deal camera drone might just become the gift of a lifetime.  

Anyone getting a drone should learn to fly with an already accomplished drone operator.  Trying to learn alone is a terrible idea.  There are RC or remote control flying fields everywhere and there are folks there, flying that are only too willing to teach you some basics. 

Camera drone schools are also beginning to surface and that’s yet another professional opportunity. 

The drones are here to stay simply because they are both needed and wanted.  Now I want Santa Claus to put an advanced professional drone under my own tree this year!

Treason and Murder Disguised as Incompetence, The Ebola Crisis

Ebola is not a real threat, just ask these medical professionals!  

Washington, DC—The Obama Administration and their Kool-Aid drinking followers are setting us up for total disaster.

As the official political line telling us that Ebola is not easily spread.  They claim that only intimate contact can lead to infection.  This, as two American nurses treating an Ebola victim were infected and are now fighting for their lives. 

The medical professionals all know better than to contradict The Obama Administration and their bureaucrats.  They know they will be accused of fear mongering and punished severely. 

The haz-mat suiting up of our medical community speaks volumes since it’s really unprecedented in our history.  They never before felt the need to take these kinds of precautions for Smallpox, AIDS or any other disease! 

We have successfully fought numerous contagious diseases through sanitation, immunizations, and quarantines for a very long time.  That works, political correctness does not. 

The Obama Administration is now intentionally importing Ebola to the United States.  They must stop all air travel between West Africans and the USA.  To do anything else is murder, pure and simple. This may seem difficult but we only need this kind of remedy until the current epidemic is under control.

Obama and his minions are deliberately placing our airline flight crews and military members along with their families in incredible risk.  We are next!
