Charlotte, NC—Along with all the grief associated with today’s air travel, the airlines are not helping themselves into profitability. They are adding more reasons to avoid flying altogether.
I arrived at the airport only to learn from Delta Airlines that I must fork over an additional $25.00 fee for my 25” roll-away bag each way. It was not the money that angered me but the nickel-dime low brow treatment.
I forked over the additional payment only to see panicked passengers who have avoided the charges overfilling the overhead storage bins. Smart travelers were trying to find clever ways to beat the extra charges. Needless to say the overhead bins get stuffed full before nearly half of the passengers are let on to the plane.
Loading the plane took a significant longer time and the flight attendants began confiscating small bags of passenger’s valuables that because of a lack of space in the overloaded bins. The confiscated bags included laptops and cameras that were now in for a rough ride and also being offered up as theft targets. This clearly is needless additional trauma for passengers.
I’d much prefer the airlines simply left the baggage matters to the status quo and raised the prices accordingly. Most people try to avoid waiting for checked baggage anyway.
In the long run this new baggage scheme should and will cost the airlines even more paying customers. What a dumb idea.
Washington, DC—Watch Congressman Bob Etheridge, Democrat from North Carolina, as he violently manhandles a passive student asking simple questions on a public sidewalk.
This is nothing more than a criminal assault and battery that deserves prosecution in both a criminal and civil court.
This is the new thuggish attitude of the Socialists of the Barack Obama Administration. Yes, it reminiscent of the Brownshirts of National Socialism’s SA that brought Adolph Hitler to absolute power.
If Etheridge escapes prosecution that’s a sure sign of the Obama Administration actually is gaining that dreaded absolute power.
They’ve changed their name many times but their mission is the same. They want what they’ve called sensible gun control. They’ve wanted to ban every gun in civilian homes in America. They’ve pushed their agenda with a loud voice for a couple of decades but now thankfully, they’re running out of gas.
The U.S. Supreme Court dealt them a fatal blow when they re-affirmed the Second Amendment in the Heller case. Now the Brady Bunch is bracing for another defeat with the McDonald case due any Monday this month.
More importantly the truth has emerged through the new media about the failure of gun control to do anything but empower and enable violent criminals. Before the Internet, with only the major TV networks and Leftist newspapers, spreading their misleading and poisonous propaganda was smooth sailing. Those days are over now

Washington, DC—Barack Obama is at it again, enslaving taxpayers this time for yet another $50 billion to bailout cities that refused to exercise minimal fiscal discipline.
Now these Democratic Party controlled cities say they have to lay off teachers, fire and police. Of course the unbridled corruption and waste matters not as the same city officials will get another blood money bailout.
The Leftists running these metropolitan cesspools have done silly things like declare themselves as Sanctuary Cities for illegal aliens. They’ve forcing taxpayers to provide services for the trespassers.
Chicago for example misspent many tens of millions trying to win the Olympic Games. They were merely looking for more contract extortion opportunities for their own officials.
Is there no limit to bailout foolishness? These rogue cities need to be forced to tighten their belts. They need to be weaned from reckless spending. Giving money to the same horrible local politicians that created this mess is the same as rewarding John Dillinger for robbing banks.
Cities must be allowed to fail. The residents of these cities would then vote out the crooks that created the problem in the first place.

Greensboro, NC—A Barack Obama supporting thug named Governor Spencer waded into a group of peaceful Tea Party demonstrators to confront them. Spencer pushed one woman and threw a left hook striking, Nathan Tabor in the face.
The vicious an unprovoked assault was captured on video tape. The thug left without being arrested.
I have one simple question. Why didn’t the other men in the demonstration step in and beat the living snot out of the Obama thug? This is nothing more than backing down from a schoolhouse bully. Failure to fight back only empowers the bullies and brings much more of the same.
Today’s Americans don’t really deserve rights they won’t fight to preserve and protect. Standing around with signs to an administration that ignores both voters and the Constitution is a waste of time.
We cannot fight tyranny with peaceful protests. That never works. We are under the most dangerous Socialist threat this country has ever faced and must do our duty as Americans to protect and defend the Constitution. Extortionate taxation and enslavement of Americans is an act of war that can only be addressed in kind!
If we can’t fight the little fights how can we liberate ourselves from a Socialist takeover? If we don’t immediately begin to do our duty and violently defend, our freedom will perish.
Los Angeles, CA—The trial of Bay Area Rapid Transit cop, Johannes Mehserle has been removed from Oakland to be tried here.
Mehserle is the young cop who shot and killed Oscar Grant on a transit platform on New Year’s Day in 2009. Grant was being subdued and handcuffed by several officers when Mehserle removed his service weapon from its holster and shot Grant in the back. It sounds so simple but it’s not.
The shooting of Oscar Grant was a YouTube Sensation because several people in the hostile crowd pulled out cell-phone video cameras and captured the incident. They quickly posted the videos on YouTube with their own misleading and incendiary commentary.
In the past 40 years police agencies all over have experimented and deployed all manner of non-lethal gizmos and sprays as an alternative to force that will seriously injure or kill. Quite popular are the Tazer stun guns with police administrators and local politicians. I have taken exception to this device for a lot of reasons.
There is only so much room on a patrol officer’s belt for equipment. There is the service weapon, extra ammunition, handcuff case, baton ring, portable radio and a key ring. The more crap you add the more complicated things get. When you are required to carry a new device like the stun gun your developed, reflexes and muscle memory goes to Hell. Survival dictates that you watch your suspect and possible accomplices and not the equipment on your belt.
When it comes to police equipment it’s administrators and politicians that decide what will be carried not the officers required to carry the crap.
Apparently the reason that Grant is dead is not because of a wanton desire to kill him but the cop grabbed the wrong pistol grip. Instead of grabbing the Taser gun he grabbed the Sig .40 caliber duty pistol instead. That was an ugly mistake but a mistake none the less.
Next we have to talk about Oakland, California. Oakland is the Hate Epicenter of the United States for African-American extremists. The Black Panther Party was spawned here and cops, especially White cops are targets of hate and deadly race based assault.
Oakland’s African-American community wants the blood of this young cop. The threats against this lad are such that anyone killing him in a on the street, jail or prison would be considered a Black Hero.
There is no basis to rationally believe this was more than an accident where the victim was willingly engaged in risky behavior. You also have to believe that the young cop’s attention was fixed on his own and fellow cop’s safety when this accident occurred. Any well trained officer would be observing a 360 degree area for additional threats especially in the cop hating capital of the world.
This case was only charged because prosecutors could not deal with Oakland’s hateful African-Americans.
Can a Los Angeles jury be fair? This case does not belong in a criminal court but a civil venue where a jury should be dealing solely with the issue of civil negligence.

Washington, DC—In our world politics and governments may change but people and their cultures remain the same.
As a young man and Army draftee I was part of the post World War Two military occupation that was still around 23 years after the war ended. I saw some amazing things in Germany. They were still repairing war damage but the smiles and friendship the people offered me was immeasurable to this Chicago boy so far from home. Serving in Germany was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
Germany had joined NATO and we were all part of the common defense against the totalitarian Soviet regime. In thousands of homes were pictures and tapestries of our President John F. Kennedy. Kennedy endeared himself to the German people with his famous, “Ich bin ein Berliner!” speech.
The German people accepted me as one of them. I went out of my way to learn and think in the German language. My host country shared their food, culture, hopes, dreams and lives with me. Fun was going to a night club were a rock group would perform the latest American hits, but with a German accent!
Too many of my fellow soldiers stayed among themselves missing a fabulous experience. In retrospect I could have stayed in Germany. The Germans had a special love for life perhaps as a direct result of the war and deprivation they experienced. Germany has been enjoying its freedom and liberty since the war ended in 1945. Germany has been rebuilt and has never looked better!
There’s nothing like a German summer lunch at an outdoor cafe or perhaps some wine a cheese on a short river cruise on the Rhine or Main. At night there’s lots of music and dancing under the stars in this exceptional country. Okay I must admit I’ve found the German women to be fascinating and beautiful to say the least.
Many German people have come to live and work in the United States as our globe has gotten smaller thanks to the jets that move us around so quickly.
A little slice of Germany exists at the Goethe Institute where you can mix and network or simply make friends. If you’re lucky enough to be doing business in Germany you will get lots of assistance making your stay there an enjoyable and even life changing experience.

Washington, DC—They were the Gangbusters, the brave government agents that chased bank robbers, across state lines. They created a nationwide intelligence operation to deal with all manner of crime and created a huge database of criminals, stolen property and crime statistics. they were the FBI.
The former director, J. Edgar Hoover went out of his way to court public opinion and Hollywood in a massive public relations move that constructed a rock solid image. Agents were large males educated as lawyers and accountants. There was no room for affirmative action in an agency that seemed to seek Arian perfection. The FBI has always been about image rather than substance anyway.
Hoover died and the kinder, gentler FBI evolved with a new Metrosexual makeup attitude and demeanor. They also were given loads of new jurisdiction over street crime once reserved for local police. Gone was the image created by the bureau’s founder.
The new FBI seems to score their convictions when people interviewed lie to them. That got Martha Stewart an extended free vacation at Club Fed.
Now it appears that some genius at the bureau approved a hair-brained scheme to provide some $25,000.00 to that Dutch lad, Joran van der Sloot suspected of making Natalie Holloway disappear in Aruba several years ago.
That cold hard cash was part of a very questionable sting operation funded Joran van der Sloot’s trip to Peru where he has now confessed to killing a young woman. It’s our very own FBI that became an accomplice facilitating a murder. Needless to say US taxpayers will be shelling out money to the victim’s family over liability issues. I can’t seem to find a way to justify the FBI’s involvement in that case.
In Congressional zeal to police the world we have criminalized behavior far beyond our borders. We have FBI agents investigating crimes they have no business investigating throughout the world. Crimes in Aruba should not be the concern of American law enforcement.
The FBI needs to be scaled back to record keeping and a very short list of crimes that deserve federal attention on our own soil. Their value as a law enforcement investigation agency has floundered in recent years.
The FBI’s continued jurisdiction over bank robbery is silly since they never respond to bank alarms and rarely make arrests for that crime. We have many thousands more state and local cops then when the FBI was established.
State and local law enforcement agencies have dramatically improved their ability to deal with crime making the FBI obsolete anyway. Outside of the United States Marshall, ICE, Secret Service and Postal Inspection service there is absolutely no need for federal police. The DEA, BATFE, TSA, and EPA cops are duplicated and unneeded. The duty of anti-terrorist investigation and the TSA is better made the responsibility of the US Marshall’s Service.
Chicago, IL- As former Illinois Governor Rod Blagovejich is being tried for political corruption involved with Barack Obama’s former senate seat Pat Fitzgerald is doing fancy footwork protecting the man that held him over in his job as top Northern Illinois federal prosecutor.
Fitzgerald would have been tossed with the rest of the Bush political trash except that he owned Obama though wiretapped phone conversations. Fitzgerald holds the keys to the Whitehouse and Obama has no choice but to give the crafty Fitzgerald anything he wants. I’d love to see Fitzgerald’s Swiss bank account balance right about now.
Fitzgerald’s arrest of Blagovejich and prosecution has seen the cover-up of evidence because only select portions of the intercepted phone calls were released in the court discovery routine process. Of course there would be a potential fat reward for any federal judge that would protect the man who could appoint him to a higher judicial office. It’s doubtful that the covered up conversations will ever see the light of day under these circumstances.
There are those that believe that Fitzgerald timed the arrest of Blagovejich early enough to insulate Obama from getting snagged into the conspiracy. That cover-up gave Fitzgerald whatever he wanted including being able to continue on inside the Obama Justice department.
Blagovejich was counting on his own knowledge of Obama’s criminal activity to provide him with protection too. Perhaps an end to the prosecution or at least a pardon in exchange for protecting Obama is in order. The same people that endorsed Boagovejich as Governor now claim he's crazy.
Blagovejich should have come clean on this mess long and snitched off Obama long ago. Now we have to hope that his defense team can artfully expose what the prosecutor and judge desperately wants to keep under wraps, Obama’s involvement in the conspiracy. Are we going to pretend that Obama was not trying to get that key senate appointment for a loyal and trusted comrade?
Blagovejich was supposed to have a Fifth Amendment right to summon witnesses for his defense. That right was violated by Judge James Zagel who won’t allow Obama to be subpoenaed by the defense.
Obama has a lot to hide and has all the help doing so that the Obama Justice department can provide.
Chicago, Il--For the third time in three weeks a banned handgun was used to shoot a felon during the commission of a violent crime!
It was just after 1:00 PM today when an armed robbery was attempted at the Fullerton Pawners, 5900 W. Fullerton by at least three suspects. The unidentified pawnshop owner opened fire on the robbers killing one and it’s believed he may have wounded a second. Police are intensively searching for the other two robbers at this hour.
It was just yesterday when Chicago police superintendent, Jody “J-Fled” Weis was parroting the philosophy of his boss, Mayor, Richard M. Daley.
Within the next three Mondays the United States Supreme court will tell the world about the lack of legitimacy of Chicago’s Gun Ban. Most legal experts agree the ban will end for good.
Again, the law passed by the Illinois Legislature after the Wilmette, case where Hale DeMar shot a home invader will block the prosecution of the store owner for passion of a banned handgun.
It looks like Chicago’s citizens have jumped the gun so to speak as they are getting ready for the return of their gun rights after 30 years. More lives saved by defensive use of firearms which is an absolute right for any sane, sober and law-abiding citizen.
Los Angeles, CA—I feel nauseous and begin to gag as I watch those Steve Posner and Meg Whitman campaign commercials. They both slam the other for being too Liberal as they run in the Republican primary for Governor. They both promise to be the Conservative solution when they’re both pretenders more in line with Barack Obama than anything Conservative.
They are both well established gun rights haters that love big progressive government. Neither are worthy of holding office in America.
They’re masquerading as conservatives to fool the not so sophisticated California voters who don’t know any better. These two are much more in tune with either the Loony left California Democrats or Communists.
The best man for the job and most Conservative is former Governor Jerry Brown, a Liberal Democrat that’s not been a gun control zealot. He is the most honest of the candidates and has not pretended to be something he’s not.
My guess is that billionaire Meg Whitman will get the Republican nod because she bought the most airtime to mislead gullible voters.
Chicago, IL—While growing up in the Windy City I noticed that our top four Newspapers (Yes, there were four) used their power to influence elections. I felt this was a conflict of interest since they also reported on political scandals. They problem was that they only gave negative press to candidates they did not agree with. Mayor Richard J. Daley was nothing like his pathetic and worthless son, Richard M. Daley who reigns over Chicago courtesy of his entitlement addicted majority.
The elder Daley was a fiscal conservative that was somewhat pro-labor. Old man Daley was satisfied with taxing less and keeping the job market lucrative for all those who wanted to work. The City of Chicago was once a great place to live, work and raise children.
The newspapers did not like the Conservative Daley and on Election Day, provided newspaper, voter’s guides that would dictate the politically correct candidates to vote for. Of course all four newspapers supported anyone running on a platform further Left that the regular Democratic Party. Their loyal followers would blindly bring their newsprint voter’s guides right into the voting booths and follow those instructions.
Slowly over the decades that destroyed the Regular Democratic Party and today you have the party of the Daley/Burke/Obama Crime Families. The new party principals were right out of Karl Marx’s teachings.
America’s large single voiced newspapers have brought us straight to Hell with Barack Obama and his thugs.
Newspapers became part of the Leftist political organizations and simply providing news took a back seat to propaganda rigging national political policy.
Television news as brought to us by the Big Three Networks closely followed with politically correct Leftist broadcasts in lockstep with the newspapers.
Talk radio and the Internet brought fairness and democracy to the way American’s get their information. The public is rapidly learning that they have been had and that the old trusted sources of information were nothing more than Leftist propaganda machines. Having a seemingly endless range of internet media sources Americans are no longer the captive audience of the old Leftist main stream.

I get misguided e-mails and comments particularly from a lot of my younger cop readers about my position on Due Process, Search, Seizure and many other safeguards in our Constitution.
Some assail as me as some kind of a Liberal. The biggest detractors from our Bill of Rights are Liberals and Leftists. They want more government power to control Americans.
Liberals want to limit free speech claiming it allows for hate. They want to eliminate the ability Americans have to resist dangerous criminals or a fascist government through gun rights. Liberals insist we force Americans to be searched without warrants or probable cause.
Liberals want to regulate every breath we take and have a law for every kind of human behavior. Liberals want government to snoop, sniff and search everyone in the name of public safety. They mistakenly believe that Americans should not be trusted and look for every way to over-regulate us.
We are no longer In the Land of The free or The Home of the Brave. We’ve become a Nation of Cowards as we unnecessarily search each other like criminals at, airports, public buildings and sporting events.
Unfortunately the way we find out that we have government abuse of our freedom is when a court decision is made that frees criminals. Criminal laws are challenged in the courts and the most important liberty and protections we have are decided on criminal cases. Preserving yours and my freedom is more important than keeping some criminal behind bars.
Liberals glorify victimization. Most of the horrible crimes against children happen as a result of parental neglect or worse. We turn the parents that should have protected their children into heroes and in some cases TV stars.
Most murder victims are people, who engaged in risky behavior, associated with criminals or have intoxicated themselves into utter helplessness. Victims are not heroes. A real hero is someone that has not been part of the problem and has instead protected family, neighbors or country
Gun Rights under the Second Amendment empower Americans to stop criminals in their tracks. Guns in law-abiding hands, reduces the victimization of Americans.
The Bill of Rights was the brainchild of our founding fathers. They were not a bunch of Liberals or Leftists. They understood government’s dangerous proclivity to get out-of-control only too well. They did not trust government and neither should you.
Our Bill of Rights deserves and requires we fight and sometimes must die protecting it so that we and our children have a safe, prosperous and free future.
A free society is a politically Conservative society.
Joliet, IL—TMZ.com claims that law enforcement sources said that retired Bolingbrook police sergeant, Drew Peterson blabbed to a fellow inmate at the Will County jail where he dumped the body of his fourth wife Stacy Peterson. They are planning to follow up on the tip of a jailhouse snitch.
Guilty or innocent Peterson would be savvy enough to never say anything to some fellow inmate in his lifetime.
Of course the large population of marginal and dysfunctional souls in our jails, are always looking for currency to lighten their own legal problems and will tell cops and prosecutors anything they want to hear.
What this appears to be is just an effort to taint Peterson’s chances of receiving a fair trial.
Jurors often believe that when a weak criminal case is brought against a person that the police have some strong but secret information they can’t share. Nobody wants to believe that our government would charge someone unless they were really guilty. Too often this myth is never fully broken by defense lawyers and the result is guilty verdicts.
The Will County State’s Attorney, James Glasgow is a political animal who wants Peterson convicted for the capital it will buy with voters. They never had a case and motivated the Illinois Legislature to allow for hearsay evidence in Peterson’s trial. Even with the hearsay their case is sorely lacking.
With hearsay evidence you never know who is lying. It could be the attributed source or anyone in the chain of conversation. People lie with ease even under oath. Yes, there are people that could achieve the same result through telling the truth or lying and they’d lie just for the excitement.
Will the Peterson Jury test or simply trust the evidence they get? Will the jury guess their way to a Guilty verdict because they don’t like Peterson’s public image? Will they convict simply over coincidences in facts like one wife dead and another missing?
Can a jury be made to understand that without a Corpus Delecti (body of evidence) they can’t convict? The two most difficult words to define to a jury are Reasonable Doubt. That’s a nebulous term to most people and too often a license to shirk the responsibility to be fair.
We still don’t know the exact reason for Kathleen Savio’s death or anyone’s culpability and we still don’t know if Stacy Peterson is alive somewhere. The only possible answers are guesses. Guesses are not evidence.
One thing for sure if Drew Peterson is acquitted this prosecution will cost him all of his assets, and leave him as a public pariah.
I wonder what life would have been like had I taken one of the other roads as a young man. I’ve had a life of excitement most people only dream about.
I’ve spent 18 months living in Germany during 1968-70, I visit India on a regular basis and somewhere in between have been back to Europe twice. In hindsight staying in Germany was an attractive option for me since I love that beautiful country and its people. What would have happened if I stayed there?
Being a cop, private investigator and investigative TV news producer has taken me to the most monumental criminal cases including the Oklahoma Bombing, The Montana UNBOMB case, The 9/11 attack on America. Death penalty cases and major felony matters along with the theater of the courtrooms have consumed a portion of my life.
From observing over 700 autopsies of murder victims to handling body recovery as a patrol officer at the crash of Flight 191 in 1979. I have always been where the action was.
I’ve also had heartbreak and trauma invade my life that I chose not to share.
Did I waste my life? Did I miss connecting with the right woman somehow? Did I waste some wonderful opportunities? Those questions cannot be answered. So far I must be happy with the life I made since it’s the only one I have.
In any event I won’t get a second chance to do it all again. That’s the hard part. I want to go back to my youth but I’m afraid that’s not possible.
What sustains me today, are the wonderful people I’ve met that I can call my friends. Loyal and wonderful people have filled my life.
Nobody can tell the story better than a man who left this earth way too early. Perhaps Harry Chapin knew his days were numbered when he sang about a lost love and a life he might have lived…
Chicago, IL—For the second time in a week a Chicago resident has defended his home by shooting an intruding felon with a gun outlawed under Chicago’s 30 year-old ban.
This time it happened after police were chasing Aaron Marshall, 26 for fleeing on foot after a traffic stop where narcotics were dropped. Marshall ran and selected a house to break into and possibly hide. Marshall apparently picked the wrong home in the 300 block of North Pine to invade. An unidentified home owner shot Marshall after he’d broken through a window of that house.
Marshall suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the left side of his body. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he’s being treated at this hour.
Marshall's criminal background includes a felony drug conviction in 2009 and a 2007 conviction for felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, court records show. Police say Marshall also is a gang member with a lengthy arrest record.
Of course Mayor Richard M. Daley has done all he can to empower robbers, rapists and killers by keeping law-abiding Chicagoans disarmed through the gun ban. Again we see another example of resistance to mayoral tyranny saving lives.
It will be later this month when the U.S. Supreme Court rules on the legitimacy of Chicago gun ban. So far in both recent incidents where citizens have used banned guns no charges have been brought by police.
Chicagoans are in the most danger while out on city streets and that problem needs to be addressed in the form of having the right to carry concealed weapons. That is expected to be addressed in the Illinois legislature after the gun Chicago ban is finally stuck down.
The Illinois Legislature addressed city gun bans after Hale DeMar shot a home invader in the Gun Free Zone of Wilmette, IL. This makes it nearly impossible for police to charge people violating the gun ban if the gun/s are discovered after a self-defense incident. ILLINOIS LAW:

Washington, DC—Barack Obama promised transparency along with a long list of hollow promises he simply made to get elected. He delivered nothing but a trillion dollar pay off to his pals who got him elected.
Obama has been running the currency printing presses non-stop, manufacturing money backed by nothing to destroy our economy. The deliberate purpose is to keep this once stable and strong government fully dependent on Socialist nations like china.
Our unemployment rate is still in the toilet along with our productivity. Obama’s Bolshevik parallel Czar Cabinet created a Socialized Medicine health care system that will destroy what we had and make things much worse. This is the same Socialism that’s never worked anywhere so how can it work here?
Along the way, government appointments are being bartered, bought and sold as this administration commits felony after felony.
We are under control of a vast criminal regime that must be stopped at all cost. Socialist governments are always led by thugs, thieves and liars. The thugs always place themselves above the law as the loot the treasury. The thugs enslave the population for their personal gain.
However you view Obama’s criminal enterprise, it violates our Constitution. They founding fathers gave us a government system that cannot be changed by a simple majority of votes or Presidential Decrees.
There is a proper mechanism for changing the Constitution these socialists will never be able to garner. Since they can’t do it within the law they’re doing it outside of the law.
Our founding fathers gave every American citizen the power and duty to defend the Constitution. We must do our duty and use whatever force is necessary to preserve the Constitution, arrest, try and hang every traitor.
We Americans like to claim that our children are our most important asset. We send them off to schools we have declared Gun Free Zones.
I guess Colorado’s Columbine High School showed just how effective that was. When The Jefferson County Sheriff’s officers finally responded they simply marched around the school waiting for every wounded child to bleed to death rather than to try and stop the killers when they had the chance.
Little has changed since then. Our children are really just not that important as you will see below.

We like to think that our system of justice is fair. We like to believe that the police conduct their investigations in an impartial manner and collect the evidence that exonerates as well is damns the accused.
That was the ideal but we have strayed sometimes in desperation to skew the process and convict who we think the public wants convicted. Modern investigative techniques and tools such as DNA, surveillance video and the data of credit and debit cards and the cell phones we all carry today exculpates rather than implicates those investigated for serious crimes.
Today there is wholesale cheating in evidence collection and inside or crime labs to bring conviction. Fingerprint and DNA evidence has been faked redundantly and the penalties for officials involved are minuscule when compared to the life prison terms and death penalties the victims of evidence fraud face.
Every year lazy prosecutors bring to Congress and 50 state legislatures proposed new laws that attack the due process rights of accused Americans. It used to be said any prosecutor worth his salt could indict a ham sandwich. Now they can convict a ham sandwich with the same amount of ease.
America’s true crime buffs assume everyman charged is guilty and demand the harshest of penalties. They assume every police arrest is based on some secret fact that can’t be disclosed as they wring their hands while waiting for a conviction in the theater of the courtroom.
Court trials are theater in every respect. They are rehearsed and acted out by the players. The final chapter is written by the jury who wants always to be on the side of right. Right meaning the side of the heroes they see on TV and in the movies. The Cops and prosecutors have a huge advantage.
That brings me to the German, Volksgerichtshof (People’s Court). In 1942 the most despicable Nazi ever, Roland Freisler was appointed as its President. Freisler started out as Communist but switched his brand of Socialism to the National Socialist variety. He was a cunning and brilliant man who knew how to please his beloved Fuhrer, Adolph Hitler.
Freisler may have been motivated by his Bolshevik past. He may have had a desire to prove himself especially loyal to Hitler and his Reich by being so ruthless.
The Gestapo was the Third Reich’s version of the FBI. They were skilled investigators appointed from the ranks of the best German police agencies. Many of these men were nothing more sinister than hard working and honorable cops collecting evidence for their government. Of course there were those tyrants who were promoted based on their phenomenal efficiency in arrests and convictions.
Investigations began from something as slim as children’s school gossip and ended at a guillotine or a deadly piano wire.
The Gestapo would make the arrests, testify at a public and sometimes filmed show trials. Prosecutors and defense attorneys would be present but it was all so much theater and the trials all ended the same way.
Then there was the case of 16 year-old, Helmuth Hübener, found guilty of high treason for distributing anti-war leaflets in 1942. Young Hübener was quickly beheaded.
It was indeed a horrible day when Sophie Scholl, her brother Hans Scholl and their friend Christoph Probst were caught passing out leaflets at the University of Munich. Within four days they were investigated, indicted, tried, put through the appellate process and sent to the guillotine. Sophie School was just 21 years-old. These were ordinary German kids who learned about Nazi atrocities and tried to stop them.
When I think of what Judge Freisler would have done to me over this blog it’s unsettling to say the least. Judge Freisler sent 5,000 German citizens to their deaths for this kind of activity.
We’ve been tampering with our Criminal Justice System making it more like Freisler’s Volksgerichtshof every day. It’s an un-American path to say the least. Don’t let this happen.
If you’re on jury duty, you’re there to test, not trust the evidence. You are there to protect your fellow Americans from the Volksgerichtshof. Guessing your way to a Guilty verdict is an insult to the thousands of Americans who fought and died for our freedom and the Bill of rights.
Freisler escaped the hangman’s gallows in Nuremberg only because he was killed in a Berlin allied bombing raid in 1945. Freisler opted to save his important court files rather than get into the safety of a bomb shelter. Freisler was 51 years-old at the time of his death.

The leader of the plot, Col. Claus Von Stauffenberg and four others were quickly placed before a firing squad at the The Bendlerblock courtyard on orders of Generaloberst Friedrich Fromm. Another plotter, General Ludwig Beck was allowed two attempts at suicide with a pistol but was then dispatched by a soldier.
The executions of these original conspirators ordered by Fromm saved these men from exhaustive torture that was planned for them by others. They were also spared from Freisler’s wrath. Months later Fromm was also executed.
Washington, DC—On any Monday this month, the legitimacy of Chicago’s 30 year-old gun ban will the courts issue. Legal experts overwhelming agree that in view of the earlier Heller case, Mayor Richard M. Daley’s favorite law is doomed.
Otis McDonald, pictured above and several other Chicago residents have sought help from the National Rifle association and The Second Amendment Foundation in getting their stolen gun rights returned.
Gun control has been finally exposed as a massive failure that has only facilitated and enabled violent criminals.
The issue for the court is not whether gun control is effective, good public policy or ineffective. It’s simply about whether our founding fathers meant it when they decreed that, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
The silly argument that this was a collective right of state government not the people is now just so much, bogus revisionist history. Government always had the right and duty to keep arms.
The days of Chicago’s politicians protecting robbers, rapists, and killers may well be over for good. Perhaps we will see gun stores in the Windy City again and concealed carry permits for the law-abiding may be a reality here too. Chicago’s thugs won’t be very happen about that.
Mayor Daley will soon have his massive heart attack and we will all move on.
