Phoenix, AZ—A major time-bomb
of sorts is waiting to go off in the courtroom of Judge Sherry Stephens. This is in the form of a motion that would
remove the death penalty from consideration due to serious misconduct. The shenanigans and misconduct of cops and prosecutors in this
case has grown to fill a massive book.
Judge Stephens lost all control
of the the Jodi Arias case from day one. Stephens has simply turned a blind eye to the misconduct that allowed this murder trial to become
one of the more infamous judicial circuses since the Salem Witch Trials.
The latest stunt revealed
today was that Mesa police detective Estaban Flores unlawfully shared confidential and court sealed information with his wife. She in
turn allegedly uploaded outrageous videos containing some of the information onto YouTube in efforts to incite public opinion against
Arias.
Ultimately, if this is true,
Estaban’s police career and peace officer certification is history. He and his wife probably will now be facing
criminal charges brought by an appointed special prosecutor.
As for the Maricopa County
Sheriff’s Office and Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, it seems that they have from the beginning chronically and deliberately obstructed Arias’ right to a fair trial.
Everything from withholding
evidence, witness tampering, and obstructed communication with the Arias defense
team has taken place. Of course who
could forget the grandstanding circus Ringmaster, prosecutor Juan Martinez
signing autographs for his infatuated female court watching fans.
That means there is so much
more at stake here than lifting the Death Penalty but outright dismissal is now
in plain sight.
No small issue is that Arias
has been transformed by a runaway prosecution effort into a reviled pariah. Current jury selection happenings have made
it abundantly clear that the jury pool is hopelessly tainted.
There is no chance that the
damage could ever be undone. There is only
one solution now That is setting Arias free and that’s exactly what the law
requires.
As for the angry mob of
mindless court watchers that have made Arias the object of their intense
hate? They can now transfer their wrath
to the brain dead officials that let this happen through their redundant,
persistent and chronic misconduct. The 23 page Motion is attached below:
Phoenix, AZ—Local politicians and judges in this town have always worked, played and engaged in corruption so well together. They have always protected each other but things are different now.
Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas and Sheriff Joe Arpaio have taken on the rest of the county government like attack dogs. The lawyers, private investigators and bail bondsmen are in for a Christmas bonanza.
If Sheriff Joe has his way most local politicians and even some judges will be wearing pink underwear and living in his Durango tents.
County Supervisors Mary Rose Wilcox and Don Stapley have been scratching each other’s backs for years. Now they are both facing prison for corruption charges. Perhaps they can rat out some of the others enabling taxpayers to get a break!
At the heart of the matter are two law enforcement officials going after their critics with raids and SWAT teams. Investigations are being opened everyday against judges and politicians who have gotten on the wrong side of Thomas and Arpaio.
The good news here is that it’s no longer business as usual as every contract and every shady deal is getting close examination. These deals are the real reason Arizona is broke. The unneeded light rail project and every kind of government building contract have funded political campaigns like never before.
I’m loving this war, if for no other reason it will slow down the corruption. Perhaps this will help limit the time politicians hold office.
It’s also time to end these lifetime judicial appointments too. Six years as a judge is enough for any lawyer. The judges would be a lot more reasonable if they knew they’d be back practicing law soon.
I only hope this war escalates spreading everywhere cleaning up government.
Phoenix, AZ—I spent some time with some interesting folks last week. They were members of Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s 3,200, member Posse. This was during the same time while several thousand Latino demonstrators protested this sheriff’s efforts to slow down the invasion of narcotics, crime and poverty from Mexico.
Even with Arpaio’s efforts the number of kidnapping of illegal aliens by others is staggering. Not only are these immigrants trespassing the damage from their blight is irreversible. You can't resurrect innocent victims of illegal aliens’ crimes from the dead. American schools and medical providers along with state and local governments have all been crushed under the huge financial burden resulting from the unlawful incursion.
The real reason Liberal politicians don’t want to block these folks unlawful entry is that they will insure an end to the form of government our founding fathers gave us. Marxist governments can only thrive where there is massive poverty and freedom along with prosperity don’t exist.
As for the posse, my home town Chicago can learn a lot from Sheriff Joe. American Sheriff’s posses have always been a way for Sheriffs to obtain manpower needed to confront crime. The concept is a simple one every community has a supply of reliable, honest and dedicated citizens. It’s from this valuable human resource that the posses are assembled.
Maricopa County, Arizona is larger than the State of Rhode Island and a challenge to police. Thankfully the posse here has been created and staffed with unpaid volunteers giving taxpayers a big break. The posse was here long before America’s toughest Sheriff, Joe Arpaio was elected.
The issues for Sheriff Arpario are funding, training and of course equipment. When a posse member signs on they are responsible for purchasing their own uniforms, and other expensive police equipment including firearms. The typical two days per month service will cost a posse member a cool $2,500.00 investment.
Things like patrol vehicles, police radios and items needed by the posse are provided not by taxpayers but the posse through various fundraising efforts. This has been nothing short of amazing as the posse police vehicles are always newer and better than what the taxpayers provides the full time professional force.
The posse members undergo various levels of training depending on the responsibilities they are willing to accept.
In places like Chicago with gun bans being a member of a posse or its equivalent allows for the ability to carry a gun even while off duty. People sign up simply because they want to carry a gun for self-protection father than provide a needed public service. That’s just not a good reason for anyone to join a posse.
In Arizona anyone other than a felon or mental defective can carry a gun throughout the state and cities unimpeded. Through a simple permit process weapons can be concealed. You need not join a posse to have full gun rights in Arizona. The posse is there for nothing more than public service.
The posse works under the supervision of the regular sworn officers given traffic duties and anything at all that would free up the regular officers for more serious assignments.
The posse members look and act like cops and have all the real police powers while under the direction of the regular sworn officers. Nobody can recall a scandal or negative news making incident of any posse members. The same can’t be said for the regular sworn force.
In Sun City Arizona there are Sheriff’s patrol cars everywhere. You can’t tell the posse from the regular cops unless you’re close enough to read the fine print on their Sheriff’s stars. Criminals have been intimidated by the presence of the posse for decades making Sun City one of the safest retirement communities anywhere.
Under Sheriff Arpaio funding for the posse has never been better. That’s because Sheriff Joe is the biggest ham and publicity hound anywhere in law enforcement. Sheriff Joe is the master of publicity stunts. Sheriff Joe is a genuine celebrity who can attract crowd wherever he goes.
Sheriff Joe has brought not only chain gang prison stripes to jail inmates but, embarrassing pink underwear and food that costs less than what is fed to most dogs. Sheriff Joe forbids, tobacco products, girly magazines as he has forced inmates to live in outdoor tents in the blazing Arizona sun.
The celebrity of Sheriff Joe has a huge side benefits for taxpayers. The needed posse funds are raised these days through the sale of Sheriff Joe’s pink jail underwear along with an assortment of novelties at various civic venues.
I don’t want to discount another force here and that’s the other volunteer force of unpaid but fully trained reserve officers that work for the local sheriffs as well as nearly every Arizona police department.
I have always found volunteers superior to the hard corps unemployed brought in to work for government under various jobs programs created by some of our politicians.
Could Chicago benefit from having a self-supporting Sheriff’s Posse? The answer is obvious.
Phoenix, AZ—Never let it be said that Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio isn’t clever. He has an uncanny ability to solve some problems usually in front of rolling TV news cameras.
The problem the good sheriff had was that his deputies were paying parking fees or getting citations on county cars at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. The deputies need to pick up many freshly extradited prisoners there wanted for felony matters to deposit in Sheriff Joe’s jail.
The problem was that the City of Phoenix refused to cooperate by ending their parking fee extortion against the county cops.
Fighting Extortion With Extortion
The City of Phoenix just unveiled their new light rail mass transportation system with service to Sky Harbor Airport. City officials are feverishly trying to get the public to use the new system. Sheriff Joe could not wait to oblige and help them with their public relations campaign. I don’t think Sheriff Joe’s publicity idea was what the city politicians were looking for to increase ridership.
Sheriff Joe announced he had a way to save $75,000.00 per year in airport parking costs. He pulled off yet another media stunt announcing his deputies would begin using the light rail to transport felons. With TV news cameras in tow the resourceful Sheriff went along as his well armed deputies picked up a hapless wanted felon from Sky Harbor Airport transporting her by light rail to his jail.
The thought of Sheriff Joe expanding the program to include jailed chain-gangs being sent to work sites worked incredibly well to get city official’s minds right. They agreed to let deputies park their vehicles at the airport without charge while there on official business.
