Rebecca Grossman, Diane Teran, a Tale of Two Women and Legal Intrigue

Van Nuys, CA--The double murder conviction of LA socialite, Rebecca Grossman may well be reversed. The reason is apparently mired in illicit goings on within the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.

 

Grossman was convicted in February for the double second-degree murders of two Westlake Village young brothers in connection with a terrible automobile accident. This might have seemed like simple slam dunk conviction, but it is not.

 

The District Attorney’s supervisor of the Grossman case was, Diane Teran.  Teran was subsequently arrested and currently stands charged with 11 felony counts related to the theft and abuse of thousands of classified law enforcement computer records. Apparently, the partial motive of these crimes was to tamper with evidence.   

 

Former LA County Sheriff, Alex Villanueva recently revealed that Teran has a serious history of unlawfully withholding and or deleting exculpatory evidence (Brady material) in numerous cases. 

 

Grossman's lawyer, James Spertus now represents Rebecca Grossman, and he also represents Diane Teran.  The prosecutors assigned to the Grossman case tried and failed to have Spertus kicked of the case on Friday claiming the lawyer has a conflict of interest. 

 

Throughout my career, I’ve seen many murder cases reversed because of unreliable characters were involved in the arrest, investigations and prosecution of suspects/defendants. 

 

Defense attorney’s only need to show a pattern of unlawful conduct, not specific acts to obtain dismissals in these cases. Teran’s history makes it very likely that the Grossman convictions will be reversed, and the case dismissed with prejudice.

Let me be the first to predict Rebecca Grossman will go free to resume her life.  The stain of this tragedy will remain forever on the lives that were changed.

Joel Brodsky, Firebrand Chicago Lawyer is Fighting For His Life

Chicago, IL--Amazing how a lawyer can be disbarred for simply fighting for justice in Chicago's Courtrooms.  Despite no allegations of theft, dishonesty or fraud Joel Brodsky faces possible disbarment.  In the meantime the Illinois State Bar Association will destroy Brodsky's clients with a questionable interim suspension. The Incendiary Laura Loomer, Journalist or Activist?

National Harbor, MD—25 year-old journalist, Laura Loomer has repeatedly demonstrated her raw nerve, ability and extraordinary courage to ask powerful politicians and bureaucrats those tough questions the mainstream media always avoids.

Loomer publishes her material on her website and YouTube channel.  That actually qualifies her by definition as a legitimate journalist.  

Loomer has developed a confrontational style where she “Loomeres” those Leftist political newsmakers.   Loomer demands answers as a form of unbridled advocacy and activism.  That activity has gotten her ejected from book signings and numerous  political events. 

Crashing the gates and fences of Gavin Newsome and Nancy Pelosi that both claimed a border wall was immoral captured police attention.  Loomer risked arrest and prosecution to demonstrate their stunning personal hypocrisy.

Loomer has run afoul of Muslims and their Leftist sympathizers, calling them out on their bias and violence against Jews and Gays.  That activity has gotten her banned from Uber, Lyft, Twitter, Pay Pal and Chase Bank.  

Loomer went to Congress and challenged Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey on his ambiguousness on his website’s shifting censorship policies.  When Twitter banned Loomer she handcuffed herself to their NYC front door.  

Can Loomer be simultaneously both an advocate and a journalist?   She crosses the line when she actually becomes the story rather than just covering the news. There is an obvious conflict here.  But it’s not slowed down this firebrand one bit.

Loomer obtained press credentials to attend and cover CPAC.  Her credentials were revoked and confiscated after she reportedly Loomered CNN reporter, Oliver Darcy over his biased coverage of President Trump.  

Loomer is currently championing a campaign of defending the First Amendment Rights Of Conservatives.  

Conservatives are under constant Leftist censorship attacks.  Simply wearing a red Trump hat near Liberals has been an excuse for Leftist violence.  

We need more Laura Loomers or we will have no free speech rights.  Like her message or not, if we refuse to protect Loomer, who then will protect us?

I’m getting really serious about vlogging!

Los Angeles,CA—I just got a new vlogging DSLR camera.  I already had a decent news gathering video camera, a couple GoPro cameras, an iPhone and four drones.  

I actually have a working video and photography studio in my home. Needless to say, I also have a video editing suite and can post whatever I please on Social media sites.  However now, I really do have all need to regularly produce a very watchable vlog.  

I’m still learning new things every day.  The largest vlogging obstacle is a lack of subject material.  I finally made the realization that the best vloggers can make a story out of a trip to the dentist or even the grocery store watchable and interesting!  It’s time for me to learn how to be an enterprising vlogger.  I must go out and find my stories and share them.  

I do have a huge TV news background working on such stories as The Oklahoma Bombing and Ted Kaczynski, the long sought UNIBOM, serial bomber.   I’ve produced hundreds of news stories on high profile murders and other infamous crimes. 

Running around with a camera in the cities where I spend most of my time seems so lame by comparison!  Then it dawned on me that most of the other people in the world rarely or never have the opportunity to see things through my eyes!  They are in all different parts of the country or world! Yes, it’s all brand new to them! I’ve become jaded and unimpressed with my lame surroundings!  It isn’t my surroundings but me that has been lame! 

Super Vlogger, Casey Neistat who makes $8 million a year from YouTube, takes us to all of his local haunts in Manhattan when he’s not traveling.  Since I only visit NYC occasionally I find it very interesting.  Casey can do a vlog about, doing laundry or riding his skateboard interesting and that is the fundamental art of storytelling.  

It’s not the material, but the vlogger’s ability to bring his or her adventures to the audience. Telling the story with excitement and energy is an absolute must!  However, I’ll skip the Neistat skateboard and the trip to my local hospital emergency room. Sorry, I know there are people that would enjoy that episode, way too much! 

If you’ve thought about doing a vlog to cover your hobbies, travel or business just do it!  I want to tell you that without phenomenal luck the likelihood of you getting rich is similar to winning the lottery.  The reward is in getting to know how to let others far away live your adventures.  That is incredible empowerment!

Los Angeles, CA--Do you have a cause, perhaps a beef with your government, school, employer, homeowners association or even the news media?  Do you have something you need to promote or sell?  You can unleash that beast in your smartphone and get results! 

If your voice is not being heard you’ve apparently found yourself helpless in calling attention to your situation.  Don’t expect others to speak up for you, but now you can speak up for yourself through technology.

Yes, you can tell your story to the masses on your own terms.  It’s far easier than you may think.  

Your smartphone has a powerful video camera and video editing system.  You just must be able to tell a coherent and compelling story.  You use that smartphone to shoot, write, edit and create your story just as any seasoned TV journalist or vlogger would.

You simply sign up for a free Youtube account.  An important part is creating the tags or search words that people will use to find your video.  If the names, places and subjects aren’t listed in the tags, nobody will find your video unless you first send them the link.  

If you put up a watchable video that contains solid and steady pictures, good audio, decent voiceover and perhaps some text or even music you will get your video noticed.

First and foremost always hold your smartphone horizontally!  TV and computer screens are horizontal!  

Keep your videos short and to the point.  Speak naturally as you would to a friend.  Always obtain interviews from witnesses whenever possible.  

Find a pleasing news story or a vlog that you can emulate in monkey see, monkey do fashion and your good to go. 

There’s lots of internet training videos out there.  I highly recommend taking the on line course offered by thevj.com because they train video journalists worldwide.

Imagine that you’re inside a business or at the scene of an important news-making event.  If you can put a news video story together you can sell it for a tidy sum!  

You too can become video literate.  Once you begin, there may be no stopping you.  You may even find this learned skill is life changing and bring you unexpected wealth.  

When Conservative Blogger, Andrew Breitbart suddenly suffered a heart attack and died, I wanted to do a simple story for my blog.  

There was a belief by many that Breitbart was murdered because of stories he was publishing about Barack Obama. 

I went to the scene and just by chance I ran into an eye witness that saw Breitbart fall and die on the street.  I included that interview in my video and made a bundle!

Studio City, CA Jeweler Violently Robbed Once More, and I Blame Liberal Politicians!

Studio City, CA—On Ventura Blvd, in this upscale Coldwater Curve Area area are various boutiques that cater to the glamorous local ladies.  One such small business is, Dana Kathryn Jewelry. The owner, who has personally suffered at least three earlier violent robberies, staffs this small elegant shop.  

They say many Conservatives were Liberals that were once mugged.  There is a lot of truth in that statement here.  

The shop’s owner, Dana Kathryn had taken several steps to prevent her business from being victimized.  In addition to an alarm with surveillance cameras she acquired a beautiful German Sheppard dog, Charlie and a gun that may have just saved her life.  

Yesterday two thugs entered her shop, assaulted her along with two customers with a powerful disabling chemical spray.   They then used a hammer to destroy jewelry display cases and they were in the act of scooping up jewelry.  Dana Kathryn was able to produce her gun and fired shots at the men terrorizing her and her patrons.  The robbers escaped by fleeing Northbound on Ventura Blvd.  

Police responded along with paramedics.  All the women were treated for the chemical burns on their faces.  Two women were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

I don’t know how Dana Kathryn will cope with this latest trauma.  She’s simply trying to earn a living, pay extortionate California taxes and survive. My heart goes out to her once again. I met Dana Kathryn a year ago and she was unhappy with my somewhat Conservative blog that was critical of Mr. Obama.  I bet she’s now rethinking the folly of supporting any Democrats.  

This beleaguered woman took every precaution she could to keep herself and customers safe. Obviously it was not enough.  Los Angeles became a “Sanctuary City” defying Federal Immigration laws.  Additionally California has been releasing thousands of violent criminals from the state’s prisons shaving years of their already, too short sentences.  These policies absolutely have only brought more victimization to California’s citizens. 

These violent mutants are simply out roaming the streets looking for things to steal and people to harm. They’ve been enabled and facilitated by the policies of Liberal politicians in a deliberate effort to make taxpaying citizens more dependent on government for their basic survival.  Of course concealed weapons permits are totally banned for those people living in or anywhere near Los Angeles.   

Californians must resist the criminals and their Democratic politicians if they want to survive. They must ignore those numerous gun laws that blatantly violate their civil rights.  

I suspect that the next time Dana Katheryn enters a voting booth she will vote out those responsible for this crime threat.

Dana Kathryn has my full support, sympathies and best wishes.  She’s now a certified combat veteran in the war on crime.  I hope she stays tough, keeps her shop open and is fully supported by her community.   

Hitler's Hollywood, A Look at the Documentary Film

Hitler’s Hollywood, is a a documentary film about how Joseph Goebbels reinvented Hollywood film making for the Third Reich.

After completely cleansing Jews out of filmmaking, Goebbels used the relatively new media of talkie films to legitimize anti-Semitism and euthanasia as he glorified the concept of people sacrificing their own lives for the honor of the Third Reich.  

Goebbels was able to oversee the subtle mixture of entertainment, art and propaganda to indoctrinate Germany and soon all of Europe.  

There was no television during the Nazi administration 1933-1945 so attending your local movie house was your only option for seeing films. 

Before you could enjoy the Nazi entertainment film at your local theaters they’d show a newsreel (Fake News) film.  There were potentially serious consequences for those movie goers that came to movie houses purposly late avoiding the newsreels. That was seen as a form of resistance by the Nazis.  

This mixture of entertainment, art and indoctrination was not lost on our own Hollywood.  They later used films to legitimize homosexuality, gender confusion along with various societal and politically unAmerican aberrations.  

As we enter the age of YouTube and citizen journalism the mixture of entertainment and diverse propaganda is now in its own Renaissance Period.  Today nearly anyone can create video Media to promote whatever they please.  

Free speech is all about diversity of opinion.   The efforts to control and censor video content has become a hot button in our new media society.  It’s all fun until others want to silence your voice or content.

Top Gun Arizona Lawyer Dead at 68

Richard D. Gierloff  1950-2018

Gilbert, Arizona—It’s with great sadness that I must report on the death of Phoenix, Uber-Lawyer, Richard D. Gierloff this past Monday (04-09-18).

Richard was my personal lawyer, mentor and friend for well over three decades.  He handled criminal cases exclusively, including many death penalty matters.  He took on each case as a matter of life and death for his clients.  He never undertook his duties in a lighthearted manner.  Richard was a very meticulous winner.

Richard began his working life as a drug abuse counselor; soon he entered the University of Arizona Law School.  He went on to become one of Arizona’s greatest lawyers.  I was really pleased to work as his investigator on so many high profile cases.  Together we had many great victories.   

Richard was stricken with throat cancer last year and waged a courageous battle.  He was forced to shut down his law practice and withdraw his State Bar Admission.  He knew things were very serious.

Soon a special lady that was a longtime girlfriend, Christine Berry suddenly became Richard’s caretaker.  Christine lovingly took care of Richard’s needs as he was in the biggest challenge of his life.

I was able to visit Richard and Christine last month.  Richard was still confidant and fighting.  He was however, so frail and thin.  Considering this was a man that always ate right and did daily gym workouts this was so grossly unfair.  

Richard surprised me by telling me I was invited to finally see something that should have happened years ago.  Richard and Christine were to be married on April 21^st.  Instead of a wedding, I’ll be attending his final sendoff. If I know Richard, he will be vigorously advocating for people waiting at Saint Peter’s Gate. 

As for the rest of us, we lost a giant of a man.  He has saved and changed many lives.  Richard Gierloff is a real hero that will never be forgotten.  

Richard is survived by his true love, Christine and his adult daughter, Nora Gierloff.

The Big Picture, Why Broadcast and Print News is on Life Support

Los Angeles, CA—I’ve worked in TV news as an investigative freelancer for nearly 30 years.  I never sought nor obtained a formal journalism education but was drafted into TV news strictly for my investigative ability.  I was lucky to be given a, second to none, on the job journalism education by many gifted reporters, producers, media lawyers  and TV news consultants. 

For the last 15 years I’ve watched the slow death of news, as we knew it.  News consumers have left broadcast and print news in droves. They’ve escaped to Internet bloggers and vloggers for their information. 

Left behind are the folks that simply never learned computers or even smart phones.  Because they’re technophobes they’ve become a captive audience for television and print news.  Then there are the illiterate and poor.  Few of these folks are great targets for advertisers other than drug and reverse mortgage companies.

I think print is failing as society has moved away from reading or even writing to video or voice.  Its sad but simple literacy has been on the decline in America since the invention of radio and TV. 

Despite vast technology changes TV news has changed little since the days of Edward R. Murrow.  A TV news anchor sits at a desk and drones on from a teleprompter.  Reporters in the field tell their stories all in identical fashion.  In this mix is nearly zero originality or creativity.  Every channel is virtually the same! To add insult they even run their segments of news, weather and sports at the same time.  Even the commercials are run in identical time slots.

Murrow has been dead for over five decades!  Since then technology and our capabilities have changed dramatically.  Still the suits running TV news are too cowardly to change with the times. 

However ownership of big media has introduced massive amounts of political propaganda.  The endless talking heads claiming to be experts in government do little more than alienate 50% of the audience. Today you get a little news while the talking heads tell you who to hate!  Anymore, it’s never a case of, “We deliver and You Decide. “  It’s more about, we tell you what to think.

The lack of creativity along with the over-abundance of Leftist opinion is killing broadcast news.  The serious decline in literate Americans at the same time is destroying print news.

YouTube has really broken the mold.  They’ve somewhat democratized the process of just who is allowed to produce video content.  It’s true that most offerings are experimental crappy video made by those that don’t yet have a clue.  However some have developed both terrific video making skills and personality.   Over time they’ve learned the craft quite well.

There the Internet standouts that became millionaires like Casey Neistat. They don’t provide news, just diversions and entertainment.  Others run the gamut of the political spectrum.  Nobody seems to provide pure news anymore. 

Because of serious competition TV News business must be like Barnum and Baily’s Greatest Show on Earth, or it will simply fail today.   TV news must learn from talented bloggers like Neistat who can make a creative and interesting story out of something as boring as paint drying.  Our audiences that advertisers count on are not sophisticated or particularly wise.  There is that thing called, the lowest common denominator and they need to be entertained with serious eye candy and music.

If TV news wants to survive they need the millennials.  TV news has no choice but to quickly learn from Casey Neistat and move forward.  

Avoiding controversial editorial opinions is also something that can unify rather than divide and jettison your audience. 

Massive Fraud, Bribery Scheme Uncovered at the West Los Angeles VA Facility

Los Angeles, CA—The West Los Angeles VA Campus is huge.  It includes the hospital, cemetery, housing, historic church, offices, a regulation baseball diamond, basketball facility and a golf course.  There are lots of places to park cars for events.

Richard Scott, 58 owner of Westside Services LLC, was arrested at his Santa Monica Home.  He’s charged in a federal complaint with fraud against the U.S. by bilking taxpayers more than $11 million.  Scott has enjoyed a contract with the VA for at least 15 years in connection with car parking at the sprawling VA facility.

Hospital parking is managed by the VA Police and is not involved in this fraud. 

In an affidavit, federal agents alleged Scott made bribery payments to a yet to be named VA Official until that co-conspirator retired in 2014.  That unnamed official has been cooperating with investigators, obviously to mitigate his or her own prosecution and punishment. 

I can't help but wonder how many homeless veterans could have been housed for this kind of money?

Don’t Let Local Anti-Drone Laws Keep you from Flying!

Newton, MA—The City Council of this city enacted a highly restrictive ordinance over both commercial and recreational drones.  The most draconion parts of that law was just declared invalid by a federal judge.  

Among other things the council like many state and local governments recklessly went about regulating or restricting most drone activities such as:  

1.  Registration requirement for all drones with the city.

2.  Obtain “permission” from public or private property owners before any flights..

3.  Outlaws beyond line of sight flying.  

State and local politicians are either oblivious or antagonistic to the reality that they have zero jurisdiction over the airspace.  This is the mandated responsibility of the FAA.  They pass laws that result in arrests, search warrants and confiscation of property because of their arrogance and or ignorance. 

Article Six of our Constitution makes it quite clear that in case of a conflict between state and federal law, federal is always supreme.  Congress created the FAA and gave it  exclusive jurisdiction of the airspace.  

People victimized by these tyrannical laws have two ways to attack this monster:

1. If arrested they can furiously litigate the bad law in court.
2. By simply suing the offending government agencies seeking to enjoin their over-reaching laws.      

Of course if arrested, the local courts and prosecutor’s will offer you sweetheart deals in exchange for guilty pleas.  Unlike City Councilmen they have a better understanding of these bad laws.   I consider plea bargains in these cases as a nasty form of extortion.  

It will cost you a lot more money to litigate to win.  Rolling over and accepting a permanent criminal record is always the wrong answer here!

There are now two Federal Court cases affecting drone operators:  

1. Taylor vs. FAA.  This precluded the FAA from requiring registration of drone used for recreation. This new requirement was in serious conflict with existing Federal law.
2. Singer vs. City of Newton.  This case struck down the most egregious portions of the ordinance.  The plaintiff only challenged those portions of the law that affected him.

The Singer case does not really apply as a mandate nation wide however the case can be cited to various courts dealing with the same issues. The arguments made by Singer and the Court’s decision are very compelling.  

My guess is many local judges will bow not to the law but to the politicians that appointed them.  You could stand to be fined, jailed or placed on probation. 

Unfortunately what’s been left out of this argument is our Constitutional right to photograph and publish under the First Amendment. The media organizations should have challenged the bogus laws long ago.   

We also must deal with ignorant drone industry trolls that want to regulate recreational drone operators into non-existence.  The only acceptable motivation for regulation is safety.  The facts are despite millions of them out there no drone has crashed into conventional aircraft, been involved in death or serious injury.  Additionally no drone has been involved in any significants property damage.  

Many more windows are broken by softball players and golfers than drones!.  

This anti-drone hysteria continues.  It must be fought through education, litigation and safe flying.  Stand up for your rights while you still can!
