Concealed Weapon Legalization Comes to Illinois!

Chicago, IL—Despite rabid political resistance to the law of the land on Gun Rights law-abiding citizens will be finally be allowed to carry concealed firearms for self-defense outside of their homes.
Now the Illinois State Police must establish a procedure to administer the program that will verify training and issue the permits.  The background investigations have already been accomplished since every CCW license applicant must first have a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card.   Firearm trainers will be very busy providing the proscribed 16-hour program.
Those carrying guns will be getting a lot of information on safety, marksmanship and the justifiable use of deadly force.  Conflict avoidance still will be your very best choice rather than looking for or inviting trouble.  Some of you will run out of options especially in the violent areas of the state such as Chicago.
Most conflicts with attackers will end without firing a single shot once the thugs see that you’re armed and ready to use deadly force.  The thugs will either escape or you will hold them for police.
In the event you have to shoot an attacker and you’re lucky enough to survive, I have some solid advice for you in the video below and underneath that there is a .pdf  copy the new law for you to download or share:

To My Readers

I seriously want to find employment in Germany, The Netherlands or Switzerland.  If I found employment I’d relocate in a heartbeat.  Anything in film making, journalism, tourism, firearms training, security and investigation would be just fine.
I happen to speak German fairly well.  If any of my readers have any ideas for me please leave a comment.  Don’t worry I won’t publish them so leave me contact information.

I will continue my blog of course unless it somehow interferes.

Women, Sensible Shoes and Shooting!

Phoenix, AZ—As a firearms instructor I’ve learned that women who dress every day in elegant clothing go to the range in jeans and sneakers.

I understand the need for comfort and that shooting tends to sometimes get a little dirty but for the fashion plates the sensible shoes must go.

If everyday attire is dresses, skirts and high heels than that’s the way you should be shooting.

There are serious issues of stance and balance for shooters. If you you’re not training and practicing in the shoes you wear every day you’re asking for failure. You can’t afford to suddenly deal with your heels.

Kicking off the heels and shooting barefoot requires your focus to change and precious time. Additionally there are other reasons not to engage in armed combat while barefooted.

Women that wear heels regularly have great balance and can even run in them surprisingly well. Would the same elegant women skip wearing the heels on the dance floor? Not on a bet.

I’d rather see well-dressed women capable of defending themselves any day than the alternative.

It’s really quite simple, you should wear those heels to the range. The same is true for the women that wear heels part-time.

Be fashionable, but prepared, well armed and trained. It may save your life.

Meet A Gun Rights Advocate, Trainer, Wife and Mother set to shake up the firearms landscape.

Las Vegas, NV—Erin Simpson is also a big gun Tucson lawyer! I met this interesting lady in Pittsburgh at last year’s NRA convention. Erin is one to watch as she forces open even more doors to the gun rights community for yet more women.

We have, “Right to Carry” laws in all but a handful of states thanks to some dedicated women like Marion Hammer, Sandi Frohman, actress Lee Purcell and a handful of others. It was a plea from the weaker sex that changed the direction of American gun laws.

The NRA was slow to recruit women perhaps because the good old boys thought only men understood the value of guns as a lifesaver. Women broke down the membership doors of the NRA when they should have been aggressively invited. Thankfully the women are here to stay.

Another sign of hostility that has made women feel unwelcome is some of the thoughtless marketing campaigns exploiting scantly clad ladies using sex to get the attention of men. Erin pointed this out to me in a recent conversation at the Las Vegas SHOT Show and she’s absolutely correct.

Ruger Firearms has used a delightful woman, Kelly Glenn Kimbro. Kimbro is a well known rancher, hunter, guide from Southern Arizona. She’s never caught wearing provocative outfits and her real image is that of an attractive women who is serious about fine firearms. She can be seen in dozens of Ruger posters. Kimbro is a women’s role model in every way.

Sex sells in our world but it need not be tasteless and sleazy. Indeed, women are sexy and using real elegance, glamour to sell fine firearms would offend nobody. Sleazy gun ads don't speak well for men either. Perhaps it's time to bring some class to eye candy.

Erin Simpson is a rising star in the world of Gun Rights, firearms training and self-defense advocacy. I was so impressed with Erin I asked her to sit down in front of the Crimefile News camera so I could introduce her to my blog visitors. Erin has her own informational site and blog that can be seen at: http://www.triggerhappyworld.com/
