A Gifted 15 Year-Old Rocked My Music World

Breezy Love Rocking!
Winettka, IL—My work has taken me to Europe, Mexico and even India.  I’ve met some amazing people during my adventures.  Last summer I somehow found myself at a great concert.  The venue was the spacious back yard of a beautiful home where some wonderful intimate concerts are held.
The weather could not have been nicer.  I had an elegant date for the evening but we did not quite know what to expect.  I loaded up with the wine, cheese grapes and other snacks in lieu of dinner.

I grabbed a front row seat and the show began.  The opening act was a precocious and amazing teen, Breezy Love.  She writes, sings and plays a guitar.   Soon she was wowing the audience with her raw talent.  This youngster absolutely owned her audience as few pros can ever equal.

The star of the show was, Logan Brill who was not in anyway, chopped liver she has been honing her craft already for years.  Logan did not disappoint, but this review is all about Breezy because she was a real prodigy.

Breezy must now concentrate on her education first and foremost.  But her gift of entertainment must soon be shared with the world.

Let me say that my childhood was a real mess and music lessons were out of the question and whatever special talents I had were never discovered.  Every child’s possible talents for the arts must be explored. I’m always thrilled when I see a youngster excel beyond not only their peers, but the adults in their lives.

I was so impressed with Breezy I immediately contacted a long time friend working with NBC’s The Voice and America’s Got Talent.  Hopefully Breezy can catch a break   and be seen there.  The rest will take care of itself.
I love selfies with talented stars!
I’ve seen many talented people that were never properly promoted or represented by successful talent agents or managers.  They simply grow old in church choirs or lounges without ever getting the rewards they deserved.
If you have a child your absolute duty is to discover his or her’s talent and promote the Hell out of it.  That is if the child does not have some other interest that shows real promise.

We all want to see our children have better lives than we have.  Life is too short to not take full advantage of our creator’s gifts.
I know you will hear a lot more from Breezy.  I give her a definite, thumbs up!

Here is a video from Breezy’s Youtube Channel.  Please enjoy, like and subscribe to it.

St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago, The way it Was!

Mayor Daley leading the St. Patrick's Day Parade
Chicago, IL—Before the push to demonize Catholicism here and elsewhere St. Patrick’s Day was a special event in Chicago like none other.   The radical Left Wing used their influence to destroy a grand celebration of Irish pride.
The date of St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th.    It’s by no means the nearest Saturday.  Politicians all but ended local government cooperation throwing cold water on the celebrations all over the city.
This special day was not by any means an official paid holiday for anyone.  However in Chicago the city simply all but shut down.  The children played hooky from school and everyone took part in celebrations.  At the city offices and private businesses nobody called in sick, it was understood they weren’t showing up for work!  This was by no means a religious celebration, but one of absolute fun and merriment.
Most of Chicago’s Democratic ward organizations held corned beef and cabbage dinners for their members.   Grand parties were held everywhere but the ghettos.  Almost everyone became Irish on this fun day.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade was a blast.  The real mayor, Richard J. Daley, not his worthless son by a similar name was the MC.
In the glory days of the 1960’s and 70’s all parades began at Hubbard and State Streets.  The first residential building it passed was where I lived at Marina City.  From my apartment I had a wonderful Southeastern view of the city and could watch the parade from beginning to where it ended at State and Congress Streets.
That Notre Dame football great, later signed by the NFL, Steelers, John Joseph “Johnny” Lattner, owned the Marina City restaurants and he knew how to throw a grand Irish party.  Green beer flowed like Niagara Falls everywhere.  It matched the river below that was always dyed green for the occasion by the Chicago Plumbing Council under the control of the Late, Daniel Patrick Leyden.

I don’t quite understand just what happened to the crazy women that partied more than I could ever imagine.  Their clothes quickly came off as they chased the boys!   It was always just like Sadie Hawkins Day from Al Capp’s, Li'l Abner hillbilly comic strip.  I could run but not hide from some incredibly attractive hotties.
Saint Patrick’s Day for me was the greatest celebration of the year.  It’s all but gone now.
Mayor Daley’s successor Michael Blandic and the city council members funded their campaign contributions and illicit slush funds for a decade by shutting down traffic on State Street for their billion-dollar State Street Mall project.  Aside from crippling downtown traffic it was a grand failure in every respect.  Needless to say the parades were rerouted.
In true Chicago style the politicians soon deconstructed the State Street Mall and opened State Street once again for yet another cool billion!   Just imagine how sound the public employee pensions would be today with the $2 billion that was wasted and stolen by Chicago’s corrupt politicians?
The only real celebration today was when the South Side Irish Community began to hold a parade a parade to replace what was gutted.   Chicago’s Irish have since taken a distant back seat to African-Americans and Hispanics and parade permits were sometimes denied.  There is little left but a token celebration on the nearest Saturday.  The St. Patrick’s holiday spirit died with the late Great Richard J.  Daley.
RIP St. Patrick.  At least they can’t take my fond memories.

Concealed Weapon Legalization Comes to Illinois!

Chicago, IL—Despite rabid political resistance to the law of the land on Gun Rights law-abiding citizens will be finally be allowed to carry concealed firearms for self-defense outside of their homes.
Now the Illinois State Police must establish a procedure to administer the program that will verify training and issue the permits.  The background investigations have already been accomplished since every CCW license applicant must first have a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card.   Firearm trainers will be very busy providing the proscribed 16-hour program.
Those carrying guns will be getting a lot of information on safety, marksmanship and the justifiable use of deadly force.  Conflict avoidance still will be your very best choice rather than looking for or inviting trouble.  Some of you will run out of options especially in the violent areas of the state such as Chicago.
Most conflicts with attackers will end without firing a single shot once the thugs see that you’re armed and ready to use deadly force.  The thugs will either escape or you will hold them for police.
In the event you have to shoot an attacker and you’re lucky enough to survive, I have some solid advice for you in the video below and underneath that there is a .pdf  copy the new law for you to download or share:

Concealed Weapons and Illinois, the Future

Chicago, Il—When it comes to Chicago’s politicians corruption and arrogance knows no bounds.  The Looney Left Wing rules the State of Illinois because of the heavy population of Cook County.  The rest of the somewhat vast land mass of the state is politically conservative, crime free and under the thumb of dictators they despise.
Chicago’s politicians and their appointed bureaucrats have routinely violated citizen’s gun rights for more than three decades.  They have falsely arrested and convicted people for merely keeping and bearing arms under peaceful conditions.
Finally challenges to Chicago’s gun bans and the state ban on carrying concealed weapons has been ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.  They have been given a six-month grace period to craft law that does not violate citizen’s rights to carry concealed weapons.  Of course that does not sit well with these jerks that think they are above the law.
Instead of making a new law as they were ordered.  They’ve crafted amendment after amendment that only makes new gun bans and obstacles for law-abiding gun owners.  The bill to legalize concealed weapons is nowhere near being accomplished.  Frankly that’s really the best solution.
When the 180 day grace period expires and there is no new legislation that can pass muster with the 7th Circuit every citizen with a valid FOID card will be able to carry a concealed weapon virtually anywhere.
The FOID cards are issued by the Illinois State Police after background checks and identity verification. It’s a slow process that creates yet more impairment to the right to keep and bear arms.
The arrogance, ignorance and hostility of Chicago politicians will backfire as freedom, liberty and the right of self-defense returns to the Windy City.

Chicago Riot Control Has Always Been Ineffective and Costly.

Take the fight out of Chicago's rioters with some plain water
Chicago, IL—Today I watched some interesting video that I suspect has or will lead to excessive Injury On Duty Injury reports for Windy City’s finest.  I also expect a rush to medical providers and civil lawyers by those who made the mistake of assaulting Chicago cops.
When I was living in Germany 1968-1970, I watched the, Frankfurt Stadt Polizei deal with their hippies and troublemakers.  The cops in Frankfurt always made short work of crowd control with minimal injuries to all.   Was it magic?  Brutality? No!  It was just plain water.
All over Europe they use vehicle mounted, water cannons to quell disturbances.  They soak the troublemakers, who soon get very uncomfortable and very cold.  Police can identify the problem people because they are all wet and shivering.   They only want to go home after a good soaking.  For many of them this is the only time they bathe.
The water cannon can be a little overpowering but those who do not follow lawful orders to disperse can simply be hosed down on the gentle cycle.  Who wants to fight when they are all wet?  A side benefit is that the water will short out electronic detonators and wreck ignition sources for Molotov cocktails for the really evil ones.  Perhaps a few ruined cell phones will make communication more difficult for those riot organizers.
I noticed that Chicago's troublemakers were carrying cameras of all kinds.  The water cannons would really make such photography a meaningful challenge.
The water cannon will also spare cops from unwarranted discipline hearings and indictments bases on bogus allegations.  The Medical rolls will have fewer personnel to deal with and the city’s liability would be greatly reduced.
I hope this post inspires Chicago’s politicians and bureaucrats to find a more effective and humane way for cops to protect themselves than wooden batons and stun guns alone.  Imagine how a water soaked troublemaker would dance after being hit with a Tazer Stun gun?

Movie Theaters are Disappearing at an Alarming Rate

Chicago, IL—As a child of the 1950’s I can tell you about seeing a first run motion picture at a great theater. People watched the newspapers for word of a new blockbuster coming to the silver screen. The planned a special date that might include a dinner out.

Chicago’s downtown theaters were spectacular, the popping sound and smell of fresh popped popcorn filled the air. There was plush carpeting, comfortable seats and a huge screen with huge curtains that opened and closed.

Pretty, well-dressed young women occupied the ticket windows. Young men wearing formal suits with red jackets were the ushers. The ushers had small brooms and shinny brass dustpans. They ran around looking for any fallen popcorn and swept it up instantly. They were constantly moving those red velvet ropes to usher people into the theater in an orderly fashion.

The moviegoers were always dressed to the nines. They were well behaved, friendly and always smiling. Everyone at the theater had a grand experience. The films of that era were terrific. I can remember being a sixth grader going to see the film Ben Hur, with Charlton Heston at the Michael Todd Theater. For me that was a special night indeed.

That era changed and things were never the same.

In the 1960s, Chicago became the host of a huge migration of African-Americans seeking substantially higher welfare rates provided by the large Northern cities. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled the one-year residency requirements before even applying for welfare were somehow unlawful. The rush for the free money was in full swing. Southern states paid for one-way bus transportation to rid themselves of these poor, ignorant, dependent Blacks.

Chicago’s downtown area became overrun with these new migrants. Ugly behavior and crime skyrocketed. Chicago’s loop became an area to avoid. Any activity at the theaters involved a crew of off duty cops hired to aggressively deal with troublemakers.

By 1970 I had a part-time security gig at Continental Trailways bus depot. If I needed assistance the off duty cops working security at the nearby Chicago or State and Lake Theaters would come to my aid and of course I had to assist them at times. Purse snatching and sexual battery were incredibly common crimes. The crime was always Black on White or Black on Black. White criminals were never found downtown.

Over the decades White taxpayers fled the city in droves and the entitlement collecting Black population procreated faster than rabbits. Chicago is bankrupt and is showing no signs of recovery today.

Challenges to running a movie theater have not improved over the last five decades. Now theaters are shuttering their doors at an alarming rate.

Today parking cars in large cities is incredibly expensive and not without blame are those extortionate local taxes. The theaters are dark, dingy and poorly staffed. Many of the patrons are dressed down and often have offensive odors. Going to the movie theater has lost its luster.

Today everyone can afford a large flat screen TV with a terrific sound system. The Blu-Ray DVD experience is amazing. Why would anyone waste gasoline, parking expense and subject him or herself to street crime just to see a film?

Theaters have jacked up the prices of popcorn, candy and drinks comparable with meals in restaurants. That was a counter-productive move for sure.

That brings up yet another issue. Racketeering, and Restraint of Trade is rampant in the film industry. The nation’s film screens were limited and they were forced to show what studios demanded and for time periods dictated to the theater owners. Failure to obey would result in not getting any first-run films.

Independent filmmakers are finally getting a level playing field. The cost associated with the equipment to make movies has plummeted as the technology of the equipment has improved dramatically. Filmmaking will be more about art and less about clout and power. Anyone can sell their DVD’s to Wal-Mart or distribute them through Amazon.com.

With the death of the movie house and the reality of the home theater film distribution must change dramatically. All films are now promoted sold, streamed over the Internet or rented. Yes, Hollywood’s mafia is still trying everything possible to keep distribution under their thumbs. They are trying novel ideas like serving dinner with a movie. That experiment has failed because you can’t compete with home cooking and those home theaters.

The winner of this shakeout, are consumers, filmmakers and those supplying content to home theaters.

Some of the best local theaters in America can be found in L.A.’s Westwood Village. How long will they remain open? There were seven and now there are just three left.

Illinois Politicians wants to add a Special Sin Tax To Ammunition

Springfield, IL—Gun rights hating State Rep. Kelly Cassidy and her Chicago cronies want to punish gun owners any way they can. They are pushing for an additional tax on firearm ammunition.

The keeping and bearing of arms is not a right if you must pay the government for the privilege to exercise it. This is no different than the Poll Taxes of the deep-South that were outlawed by the Supreme Court long ago.

In Illinois you can defend yourself and family only if you can afford it so of course this will create a hardship for lower income people.

What the Chicago despots also overlooked is that gun owners will be unable to have reasonable shooting skills because they won’t be able to afford needed regular practice.

The real and very grave unintended consequences are that innocent people will be endangered anytime justifiable shots are fired. They also forgot to exempt cops and security workers from the tax furthering this horrible public policy.

Rep. Cassidy speak well for the kind of politicians running the dysfunctional City of Chicago. It's in their world that defending your spouse and children is a sin.

Frankly I’d not loose sleep if someone used an untaxed Louisville Slugger to rearrange Cassidy's bones somewhat.

Belgium Star, Noemi Schlosser Shines Over Chicago!

Los Angeles, CA—Most of my blog visitors know that beyond my day job as a PI and investigative TV news Producer, I’m also an actor.

Somehow I developed a new friend on Facebook who is a gifted actress/comedienne fresh from Antwerp, Belgium. Noemi Schlosser has recently been in some projects put up in Chicago’s Lincoln Avenue Theater District.

I was hoping to grab an interview from this gal in Chicago but it just didn’t happen. The good news is she paid a visit to Hollywood and I snagged an exclusive interview with the stunning thespian.

Additionally I had the good fortune to show her around town. I took her to places like Marilyn Monroe’s grave, The Screen Actor’s Guild and the Los Angeles Art Museum for an entire day.

Any time spent with a stunning woman who’s half my age is indeed quality time!

Noemi is working out the details for a performance at Chicago’s Palmer House as I write this. I predict big things for this gal that you all will be seeing and hearing about in the future.

Sit back and check out the exclusive interview Noemi granted to Crimefile News at the Los Angeles Bat Cave.

Rahm Emanuel’s Punitive Gun Control Drive Begins Today!

Chicago, IL-- Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced his effort to ramrod new gun control legislation statewide. The mayor wants to force all law-abiding handgun owners to pay hefty fees. He wants to begin registering and titling handguns like automobiles.

The mayor wants to reduce a Constitutional Right to a licensed privilege.

He claims this will somehow help police solve crimes. The suggestion that this will reduce violence is not supported by any studies or experience within this or any other nation on earth.

I guess The mayor forgot the City of Chicago already has a gun registration program under a vigorous and very expensive challenges in federal court.

The misguided mayor does not know or have even a clue about the following facts:

1. Two US Supreme Court decisions specifically exempted felons from being prosecuted for failing to register a firearm. The requirement violates their rights against self-incrimination.

2. Firearms are simply not left at crime scenes unless a perpetrator is caught, wounded or killed. Tracing such a gun is always worthless to investigators. Gun traces simply never result in arrests or prosecutions.

3. Yet another government bureaucracy must be established. The Illinois State Police are so overloaded now they cannot process the FOID cards that register gun owners.

4. This information is a privacy invasion that historically ends in confiscation schemes in every despotic government.

5. This is just another salvo being fired by gun rights haters against the Constitution of the United States.

6. This is no different than a Poll Tax. Forcing people to pay in order to enjoy a right is dead wrong.

If you live in the State of Illinois call Mayor Emanuel at (312) 744-3300 and tell him how you feel about his latest effort. Then call your state representatives and Senator in Springfield.

Chicago’s Salatino’s is a Fun Place for a Tasty Italian Dinner

Chicago, IL—Having a time consuming assignment in this fine old neighborhood is not bad considering many great restaurants in the area. Taylor Street was the location of one of my all time favorites, Genero’s but that great place closed down. I became addicted to Genero’s when I was assigned to the Monroe Street District in my youth

Not to be dismayed I set out in search of some older looking; in the know neighborhood types and found a small group that might give us a recommendation. They told us to go to Salatino’s nearby at 626 S. Racine.

Getting a parking spot was not too difficult and we were seated quickly considering it was a Friday night.

We were greeted by General Manager Jimmy Psyhogios who was a friendly take charge type guy intent on making sure we had an enjoyable experience.

When I think of Italian dining there is an image of red-checkered table clothes and a candle stuck in an empty basket-bottle of Dago Red. Of course there should be the Mario Lanzi, Eddie Fisher and Al Martino music from the 1950’s and a waiter who sounds like he’s not long off the boat.

Those basket bottles have all but disappeared from the planet. The waiters have ben replaced by younger kids who have never even seen Italy except on television. As for the music, I heard none, or if there was any it was drowned out by the chatter of happy diners. But the proof was in the meal.

The decor inside this place included many large black & white period photos (1950’s) of Italian celebrities.

They brought us some of the best hot bread I’ve ever had. That was followed by some wonderful food. The portions were such that everyone gets a second meal at home later.

This night they had an unfortunate glitch with their computer system that confused our order and sent the staff into a minor panic. That did not put a damper on our enjoyment.

Salatino’s opened in December of 2010 by Jimmy Bannos and Scott Harris who also operate a Cajun joint at 111 S. Wabash called, Heaven on Seven. I think these boys got it right.

I highly recommend this place that makes my old hometown proud.

Blago Has the Goods On Obama, Fireworks Starting

Chicago, IL-The Regular Democratic Party Organization here is nothing more than a criminal Mob enterprise operated by the Daley-Burke Crime Families. They exist through racketeering, bribery, extortion, theft of public funds and a code of silence.

Former Governor Rod Blagojevich got sideways with his former friends and that gave the U.S. Attorney here, Patrick J. Fitzgerald rare job security through a changing Presidential administration. Fitzgerald has enough knowledge to destroy Barack Obama and is holding a trump card as J. Edgar Hoover did over everyone during his dynasty at the FBI. Wire-taping was the tool for both men.

When Blagojevich was arrested his former pals that endorsed him for the state’s highest office quickly labeled him as mentally ill and a liar before he said a word in his own defense. Blagojevich was part of the crime cabal, wheeling and dealing no differently than anyone else in that cesspool.

Now Blagojevich’s lawyers are seeking to subpoena Barack Obama. That’s not a dumb move since Blagojevich has the goods on our Socialist leader. Obama has the both the need and ability to force the case against Blagojevich to quietly end.

As for the wire-taped conversations Fitzgerald has, they are being kept secret. They can only be one reason for that and it’s called a cover-up. That’s what has been Fitzgerald’s trump card he hopes will perhaps even land him a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.

I can’t predict just what will happen other than to say Fitzgerald will do anything and everything to protect Obama. Blagojevich should simply come clean and go public with everything he knows about the former members of that Chicago criminal enterprise that included Barack Obama. The conspiracy and cover-up needs to end. Obama needs to be exposed, removed from the Whitehouse, tried and put in prison with all of his fellow mobsters.

Game Over For J-Fed

Chicago, IL—With impossible to defend allegations of cowardice, a nearly total lack of support by Chicago’s finest and the department in a management quagmire Jody Weis has little choice but to move on.

Since the cowardice allegation backed by solid videotape surfaced last Friday Weis has been in hiding. He’s not returning reporter’s calls, and has absented himself from meetings.

Weis is at the end of his three-year contract and his rope. There’s no way Weis can ever recover the respect of the rank and file officers. The leadership void is at crisis level as what looks to be a violent summer approaches.

I expect a resignation announcement at any moment.

As for Mayor Richard M. Daley he must quickly find a new superintendent that can somehow end the chaos within the department. Daley needs to pull out the stops to deal with manpower, equipment and contract issues. I can’t imagine Daley rehabilitating his act now. The City council is loaded with thugs, thieves and liars that need to be investigated, removed and imprisoned.

The victims of the mess will be the few taxpayers left that have seen their investments in the city evaporate. Even sadder will be the increase in property crimes and violence fueled by among other things wholesale prisoner releases and massive unemployment. As businesses suffer they will begin to lay of what’s left of their help and shut down altogether.

In a way Jody Weis will be lucky to have left the sinking ship. The new superintendent will inherit a disaster.

The famous, “I gotta run!”video

Chicago Food Porn-BBQ Ribs @ Twin Anchors

Chicago, IL A weekend in Chicago brought me to my old Chicago haunt of Old Town. My taste buds always scream for some of the great places I used to eat.

Twin Anchors is just such a place where gluttony rules supreme. Here is that place in its glory and weather permitted me sitting in their sidewalk café. Watching the girls go by was better than desert!

Doing The Overnight With Geoff Pinkus In Chicago

Chicago, IL—Geoff Pinkus is a Chicago radio personality with two talk shows. One is on Sunday, Livin’ Large With Geoff Pinkus and the other is Overnight With Geoff Pinkus. He's on 560 WIND.

The Pinker as his pals call him is Conservatism with fun. He’s much more than politics as he celebrates women, cigars, sports, cars, gun rights, human rights and more importantly the right to have fun is what his shows are all about. This may seem like a show geared for men but his audience demographics and callers prove otherwise.

The Pinker’s shows are guest driven and he’s got no shortage of entertaining guests. TV news reporter turned radio personality, Amy Jacobson connected Pinkus to me and this blog and I’ve been a Pinker guest a few times by telephone.

This week I was invited to do the Overnight show and was in studio doing the fun eye to eye. I learned that Pinkus is afraid of no callers except for the rare boring ones. He’ll take the conversation in almost any direction that moves examination of the show’s themes.

The Pinker’s shows are streamed on the Internet right here.

If you haven’t heard the Pinker’s show give him a listen while you Live Large!

The Pinker's website is right here!

Taxing Chicago to Death

Chicago, Il—With the highest sales taxes in the nation and astronomical parking garage taxes Chicago’s politicians have driven even their own residents to shop elsewhere.

The outrageous taxes make Chicago the place to avoid. There is little motivation for any commerce to remain inside the Windy City. Yet Chicago’s taxes are still being raised at every opportunity as services are being reduced.

Mayor Richard M. Daley along with Alderman Edward Burke has been strangling the life and blood from the city. Chicago was riding high on phony property values that are now dropping like a rock.

The tax base is evaporating and there is no end in sight. Imagine owning a loop specialty store waiting for Christmas shoppers that just refuse to accept Chicago’s taxing extortion. Depressing does not begin to describe that picture.

If the city would simply stop awarding make work contracts to politician’s campaign contributors. And begin a tax war competing to have the lowest taxes with the suburbs perhaps business and revenue would begin to return to the city.

I’m not sure what it will take to overthrow Daley, Burke and the others choking the breath out of what should be a huge thriving metropolis. Something has to give before Chicago becomes the biggest ghost town in America.
