District Of Columbia Handgun Ban Struck Down.

Washington DC--It’s a great day for the Bill of Rights in America! A three judge appellate court panel just ruled that the Second Amendment is a right of the people, not just militias. The decision overturned a low court ruling that upheld the ban in light of a legal challenge by area residents.

This has strong implications for the entire nation and will affect gun bans in California, New York, and Illinois. The next step is an appeal by gun ban proponents to the United States Supreme Court.

Read the opinion here!

With other pro-freedom rulings made in recent years it may well mean that American’s right to keep and bear arms has real meaning.

They may unban guns but then a complicated weapon permit system will be put in place simular to what you have in new york or Los Angeles.

This is great news and hopefully will make the Chicago Daley administration and his flunkies such as Governor Blagojevich think twice about passing their pending legislation banning certain semiautomatic weapons and shotguns in Illinois.

A court win for civil liberties will never deter the Bolshevik gun-rights hating politicians from their mission to disarm all but violent criminals. The City of Chicago sent lawyers to argue against liberty in that case.

If you wanted to off someone you would not need a gun to do it. However, if you wanted to defend yourself against someone who is out to do you harm, a gun is the easiest way to stay safe in your home.

Hey, I think you need to change that pic with the liberty bell and those two guys - it looks like a gay rights theme vs. gun rights.

I strongly suspect that the two fellows with our Liberty Bell may both be really Gay. Since the one of our plaintiffs in the Parker case fighting for our gun rights is a District of Columbia Gay man, the picture is okay by me.

I welcome the support of gun rights from anyone and everyone. Gays need their gun rights because they too are too often targets of assault and other violent acts. I put that picture up because it really fits the article I wrote.

The main case title plaintiff, Parker is a Black woman and she also deserves all of our respect and admiration.

You don't have to sleep with these guys just stand up for their rights. The picture stays
