Edward Snowden |
Washington, DC—The massive $80 Billion communications
surveillance program exposed by government contractor turned whistle blower,
Edward Snowden is nothing less than sinister.
This program is un-American and clearly violates the civil rights of
virtually every law-abiding citizen of the United States under the Fourth and
Fifth Amendments of the Constitution.
It appears that our president and several elite selected
politicians conspired to embezzle massive tax funds and used them to create
this monster spy program in secret.
That’s Capital Treason and that should lead to criminal prosecution at
the highest government levels.
As for Snowden he should be invited to appear before
Congress and given full immunity from prosecution in exchange for truthful
testimony. The testimony administrators
of this program will follow Snowden’s.
We will find out quickly if Snowden is a villain or
hero. He appears to be a brilliant and courageous young
man who will well document the abject tyranny of various rogue government
officials.
I fear that Snowden will be an assassination target by the
Obama Administration that is already trying to label him as a foreign agent and
terrorist. Obama can be counted on to use whatever
resources available to kill Snowden rather than capture him.
As for the so-called PRISM operation and its related
programs a quick and permanent court injunction will end this lawless
cabal. The lawsuits have already begun
and the sworn depositions forced out the defendants including Barack Obama will
captivate the world’s attention and ours for many years to come.
Make no mistake unless Obama makes a sudden and successful
power grab circumventing the law of the land, he and his presidency will be in
total disgrace. If he can successfully
complete a coup we will immediately be in a certain second Civil War.
We must contact our members of Congress and demand immunity
for Edward Snowden and a full investigation into the Obama Whitehouse. I can promise you one thing if that
happens. Obama and his henchmen will
claim Executive Privilege and when that fails they will invoke is Fifth
Amendment rights against self-incrimination.
The nation is about to venture into uncharted and dangerous
territory and perhaps racial violence as the nation further divides. To do nothing would guarantee the absolute
end to all freedom and liberty in this once great nation great nation. The blood of patriots has always been the
hefty price of freedom anywhere in the world.
What’s past is prologue.

Heh. ObamAA- will ignore the Court just as he is ignoring other Court orders and Congress.
Scandal after grievous scandal is unfolding in this administration. We need to seriously study our constitution. On top of it all our fearless leader would have to gamble with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Edward Snowden risked everything to expose the secret NSA spying program of our calls and emails. On Friday night we learned what shape those risks would take—in a late night news release the Obama Administration hoped we wouldn’t notice.
Snowden has been called a “traitor” by politicians and had his personal safety threatened. Now he’s been formally charged with violating the Espionage Act—the same law used to charge Bradley Manning, who provided information to WikiLeaks.
By bringing to light information that the powers-that-be would rather keep secret, whistleblowers like Snowden play a fundamental role in our democracy. We can’t just let them be thrown into darkness.
As the Department of Justice moves in on Snowden, we need to raise our voices to ensure that Snowden is treated fairly and legally, and that the massive abuse of government power that he risked his safety to expose finally comes to an end.

Thanks Fellow Americans!
Advice from NSA Whistleblower on Trusting Your Government and how George Orwell's extraordinary work "1984" is alive, well and kicking butt.

Obamanable Semantics
It is Kafkaesque that those who reveal spying are accused of espionage. It is also Kafkaesque that the U.S. government accuses other governments of “serious human rights abuses” for doing the same thing, on a much smaller scale, that the U.S. does to its own and world citizens. Obama should reread the Executive Order 13606 (pdf) (h/t DB) he himself issued:
I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, hereby determine that the commission of serious human rights abuses against the people [...] by their governments, facilitated by computer and network disruption, monitoring, and tracking by those governments, and abetted by entities [...] that are complicit in their governments’ malign use of technology for those purposes, threaten the national security and foreign policy of the United States.
There is some truth in that statement. Privacy is a human right. Spying is destroying it. The U.S. is the one state that wants to destroy privacy on a global base. That it wants to do so threatens the national security and foreign policy of the United States. When will Obama sanction it?

Can this question be answered? If it can be - tjem perhaps it is salt and pepper - yes a little of both.
I am thinking - where angels fear to tread. Yes when Snowden exposes that big brother Government is watching your every move, leaders will be upset that their dirty secret is OUT.
Whistle blowers usually face a massive retaliation for REPORTING- a HOT LEAK.
The power of truth-tellers like Bradley Manning, Julian Assange, and Edward Snowden is that they dispel a whole mythology carefully constructed by the Corporate Governance, the Corporate cinema, the Corporate academy and the Corporate media.
WikiLeaks is especially dangerous because it provides truth-tellers with a means to get the truth out.
This was achieved by 'Collatoral Murder', the cockpit video of an US Apache helicopter allegedly leaked by Bradley Manning. The impact of this one video marked Manning and Assange for state vengeance.
Here were US airmen murdering journalists and maiming children in a Baghdad street, clearly enjoying it, and describing their atrocity as "nice". Yet, in one vital sense, they did not get away with it; we are witnesses now, and the rest is up to us!
Are we going to sit by and allow this to continue. Do we want to live in a world where Big Brother is watching and recording out every move?

Don't Please The People In Power otherwise your job is not journalism.
Apparently the US blocked the military from accessing the UK Guardian newspaper apparently, who recently received a prestigious award for their journalism concerning the spying on US citizens and the rest of the world through computers and emails.

Statement from Edward Snowden in Moscow
Monday July 1, 21:40 UTC
One week ago I left Hong Kong after it became clear that my freedom and safety were under threat for revealing the truth. My continued liberty has been owed to the efforts of friends new and old, family, and others who I have never met and probably never will. I trusted them with my life and they returned that trust with a faith in me for which I will always be thankful.
On Thursday, President Obama declared before the world that he would not permit any diplomatic "wheeling and dealing" over my case. Yet now it is being reported that after promising not to do so, the President ordered his Vice President to pressure the leaders of nations from which I have requested protection to deny my asylum petitions.
This kind of deception from a world leader is not justice, and neither is the extralegal penalty of exile. These are the old, bad tools of political aggression. Their purpose is to frighten, not me, but those who would come after me.
For decades the United States of America have been one of the strongest defenders of the human right to seek asylum. Sadly, this right, laid out and voted for by the U.S. in Article 14 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, is now being rejected by the current government of my country. The Obama administration has now adopted the strategy of using citizenship as a weapon. Although I am convicted of nothing, it has unilaterally revoked my passport, leaving me a stateless person. Without any judicial order, the administration now seeks to stop me exercising a basic right. A right that belongs to everybody. The right to seek asylum.
In the end the Obama administration is not afraid of whistleblowers like me, Bradley Manning or Thomas Drake. We are stateless, imprisoned, or powerless. No, the Obama administration is afraid of you. It is afraid of an informed, angry public demanding the constitutional government it was promised – and it should be.
I am unbowed in my convictions and impressed at the efforts taken by so many.

Russia's president, Vladimir Putin, said on Monday 7/1/13: "If he [Edward Snowden] wants to go somewhere and someone will take him, go ahead. If he wants to stay here, there is one condition – he must stop his work aimed at bringing harm to our American partners, as strange as that sounds coming from my mouth.
"Russia never gives anyone up and doesn't plan to give anyone up. And no one has ever given us anyone."

Europeans are pissed off at the US, in the wake of National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden's latest revelation that the US was aggressively spying on its European allies, both at their and the European Union's embassies in Washington, and in Europe itself, gleaning not information about terrorism, but inside-track knowledge about trade negotiation positions and other areas of disagreement or negotiation.
Leaders in Germany, France, Italy and other European countries are demanding that the US cease its spying on them, and give a "full accounting" of the spying that it has been engaging in.
But given the steady stream of lies coming from the NSA, the Obama Administration, Secretary of State John Kerry, and other American sources, why should they believe anything they are being told?

Speaking to a group of students on Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the US had essentially trapped Snowden in Russia.
Edward Snowden officially filed for temporary asylum in Russia today.
Mr. Putin said, “He [ Edward Snowden] arrived on our territory without an invitation,”
“He [Snowden] didn’t fly to us; he flew in transit to other countries. But only when it became known that he was in the air, our American partners, in fact, blocked him from flying further.
“They themselves [American Authorities] scared all other countries; no one wants to take him, and in this way they themselves in fact blocked him on our territory.
Such a present for us for Christmas.”
Mr. Putin has a sharp verbal wit and is also an ex KGB agent - So does he have something in common with Snowden? And he also granted a green card - I mean citizenship to Gerard Depardieu

Snowden told his audience at Sheremetyevo airport on July 12th 2013 “a little over one month ago, I had family, a home in paradise, and I lived in great comfort. I also had the capability without any warrant to search for, seize, and read your communications. Anyone’s communications at any time. That is the power to change people’s fates.”

Snowden's Lawyer: 'Russia Will Not Hand Him Over'
SPIEGEL ONLINE: Have the Americans made contact with him?
Kucherena: The embassy called me; they want to have a meeting. But what surprises me is that the US still hasn't made an appeal for extradition. I repeat: America has not filed a request for extradition. And America also hasn't said that Snowden's claims are false. Snowden has opened the world's eyes.
SPIEGEL ONLINE: What is Snowden's motivation?
Kucherena: We all know what normally drives humans -- greed, money, women. But with him, I haven't been able to detect any of this. I've looked him in the eyes. He has ideals. He knows that no one is going to give him a mansion on a South Sea island for his revelations. His goal is to open the eyes of the Americans, the Europeans and the world. They should know that their correspondence is being monitored.
